Dolphin Rundown:
Le Moyne has most recently played two consecutive back-to-backs away from home. The Dolphins played at Illinois State on November 17, then took on No. 22 Illinois the next day followed by neutral site games against UNC Greensboro and Southern Indiana on November 29 and 30 in San Juan for the Puerto Rico Clasico.
During the November 17 contest at ISU's CEFCU Arena, the Dolphins and the Redbirds were tied 30-30 at halftime, but Illinois State shot 64% from the field in the third period to take a 52-45 lead heading into the fourth, then shot 11-16 from the line during the final 10 minutes to close out the win.
Roberts, who surpassed 500 career rebounds as a Dolphins during the loss, tallied 13 points, six rebounds and two assists against the Redbirds. Freshman guard
Eli Clark (Oakhurst, N.J./Ocean Township) chipped in 11 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals at ISU after registering a season-best 14 points during the previous game at home against Rhode Island.
Through seven games in her graduate campaign, Roberts is averaging 9.6 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, while Clark leads the squad in assists with 2.3 per game to go along with 3.6 rebounds and 6.1 points.
Junior guard
Sierra Linnin (Valley Cottage, N.Y./Albertus Magnus), who is already seventh in program history in career made threes, and currently second all-time in made threes per game, made her season debut in Puerto Rico after working back from injury. She shot 3-for-5 from three-point range against UNC Greensboro, then knocked down four triples against Southern Indiana to finish the contest with a team-high 12 points.
Le Moyne senior forward
Brianna Williams (Brampton, Ontario/Southwest Academy/Hartford) put together a strong performance during the setback against UNCG, as she recorded career-bests in points (16) and assists (5) to go along with seven rebounds. She then grabbed a season-best eight rebounds against USI with three assists and two blocks.
Le Moyne had its best shooting outing of the season against UNCG, going 23-for-47 (48.9%) from the field, including 7-for-16 (43.8%) from three-point range. The Dolphins also compiled a season-high 21 assists against the Spartans, led by five from Williams, four from Clark, three from
Megan Bodziony (Wakefield, R.I./St. Andrew's School/Fordham/Bryant) and two each from
Mia Yanogacio (Somerset, N.J./Rutgers Prep/Delaware), Linnin,
Zhara Adeyemi (Brooklyn, N.Y./South Shore), and
Michelina Lombardi (Wynantskill, N.Y./Averill Park).
The Dolphins are currently 0-1 at home this season, with a loss to Rhode Island on November 10. Le Moyne defeated SUNY Geneseo in an exhibition contest at Ted Grant Court on October 29 during which Bodziony scored in double figures with 11 points, while Roberts and
Emily Florvil (Brooklyn, N.Y./Nazareth) tallied nine points, six rebounds and four steals each.
Thursday's matchup will begin Le Moyne's six-game December slate which features home games against Boston, UMass Lowell (Dec. 7), Colgate (Dec. 21) and Buffalo (Dec. 28) and road contests against Seton Hall (Dec. 14) and Princeton (Dec. 31).
Scouting the Terriers:
BU is led by head coach Melissa Graves, who is in her fourth season at the helm of the program. The Terriers compiled a 20-12 record in 2023-24, including a 10-8 resume against Patriot League competition and advanced to the Patriot League Tournament final where they fell to top-seeded Holy Cross.
So far this season Boston holds a 3-3 record with home wins over Northeastern, Maine and Rider.
Senior guard Alex Giannaros, who was named to the All-Patriot League First Team last season, leads the Terriers in points with 15.8 points to go along with 2.5 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game. She poured in a season-best 24 points on 8-for-11 shooting from the field and 5-for-7 from beyond the arc during a loss to Georgetown on November 27.
