Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne men's basketball team celebrates its 75th season when it hosts Stonehill College on Saturday afternoon. The Dolphins crushed the Skyhawks in the first meeting, winning 88-57, just nine days ago. Le Moyne is 1-1 since their last matchup while Stonehill is winless.

Stonehill has had a rough 2023-24. The Skyhawks have just three wins, with one coming in the NEC. Stonehill has two separate ten-game losing streaks this season. Since their defeat to Le Moyne, the Skyhawks have dropped close contests to Saint Francis and Merrimack. Stonehill is led by Chris Kraus, who is in his 11th year as the head coach. Stonehill went 10-6 in the NEC last year in its first Division I season.

Stonehill hasn't scored over 70 points in its last three contests. The Skyhawks rank last in the Northeast Conference in scoring offense and points margin. They rank second to last in turnover margin, rebounding, three-point percentage, and field goal percentage. Stonehill's only win during NEC play came against Wagner College on February 3.

Graduate forward Max Zegarowski leads the Skyhawks averaging 12.3 points. He plays over 34 minutes and shoots nearly 34% from beyond the arc. Zegarowski also leads Stonehill with 4.6 rebounds per game. He struggled in the Skyhawks first matchup against Le Moyne, dropping a season-low two points. Since that performance, Zegarowski has 31 points in his last two games.

Guards Tony Felder and Jackson Benigni both put up 11.7 points per contest for Stonehill. Felder, a sophomore, has started in 25 of his 26 appearances. He struggles from the field, though, shooting just 34% from the field and below 31% on three-pointers. Felder leads the Skyhawks averaging 2.9 assists. Benigni, a senior, shoots 40.3% from the field and just over 34% from deep. Felder and Benigni both average 1.5 steals, which lead Stonehill.

The Skyhawks' 31-point loss against the Dolphins was their worst conference defeat of 2023-24. Stonehill was winless until its ninth NEC game. They sit last in the conference by two games.

Le Moyne enters Saturday's contest off the back of a tight 69-64 overtime win against Central Connecticut State on Thursday. The Dolphins clinched an NEC tournament berth with the victory. The win also completed Le Moyne's season sweep over the Blue Devils. CCSU has just three losses in the NEC, two of which came against Le Moyne.

Graduate guard Kaiyem Cleary led the Dolphins with 21 points in Thursday's win. He played a game-high 43 minutes, making nearly 50% of his shots. He tied his season-high of 11 rebounds, which led Le Moyne, and tallied two blocks. Cleary tops the Dolphins this season in points (16) and rebounds (six) per game. He has also scored 10+ in 14 of his last 15 contests, dating back to non-conference play.

Graduate forward Luke Sutherland also played well, ending with 15 points. He knocked down two three pointers against the Blue Devils and hit all three of his free throw attempts. Sutherland was second on Le Moyne with seven rebounds and added a steal and block respectively. It was a bounceback game for the veteran, who had just seven points in the Dolphins' loss to Merrimack. Sutherland is averaging 14.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and shooting nearly 40% from three on the season.

Freshman guard AJ Dancler rounded out the Dolphins in double figures. He made his mark from the free throw line, hitting all eight of his attempts. Dancler tallied three assists, two rebounds, and a team-high two steals. He's averaging nearly 11 points in his last four games.

Following Le Moyne's bout with Stonehill, the Dolphins head on the road to face Long Island on Thursday, February 22. Le Moyne downed LIU 87-74 in the first meeting in late January.
