Rock Hill, S.C. - the Le Moyne College softball team closed out the last day of the Winthrop Eagle Classic with a Northern matchup against Binghamton University. The Dolphins came up short against the Bearcats with a 11-3 final score in 5 and a half innings.

Le Moyne started out the game with a single hit into right field by graduate center-fielder
Isabelle Boudreau (Memramcook, New Brunswick/Mathieu-Martin/Pace). The next batter struck out, but graduate first baseman
Mckenzie Bergdoll (Attleboro, Mass./Attleboro) answered by hitting a single into right field while Boudreau advanced to second. Sophomore designated hitter
Audrey Benderski (Spring Lake Park, Minn./Spring Lake Park) hit a double into right field sending Boudreau home and Bergdoll advanced to third base. This followed with two strike outs pushing them into the bottom of the 1st.

Leadoff hitter for the Bearcats, Brianna Santos was walked to start off the bottom of the first, followed by stealing second. Lindsey Walter flew out to center field caught by Boudreau while Santos advanced to third. Allison L'Amoreaux singled to center bringing in a run by Santos making the score 1-1. Sara Rende was tagged out while. L'Amoreaux advanced to third. Elisa Allen hit a home run bringing in A. L'Amoreaux as the score was now 3-1. Maddy Dodig singled into center field, but Delaney Glover struck out swinging.

The second inning was started with two strike outs by the Dolphins. Freshman shortstop
Avery Linn (Bethpage, N.Y. / Plainedge) was walked and proceeded to steel second during Boudreau was up to bat. The game was sent into the bottom of the second by a filed out into left field. Binghamton came out fighting in the bottom of the second with a double into left, a walk, and two more doubles. Graduate pitcher
Laura Bennet (Corning, NY/Corning-Painted Post) came into the game to relieve redshirt-junior pitcher
Michaela Stockwell (Fort Plain,NY/Fort Plain). The Bearcats answered to the change with a double into right field bringing home two more players and then an out made in center field. A double was then hit with a triple following bringing the score 9-1. They closed out the inning with two flied outs.

The top of the third was underway with two outs as Benderski got on first by a single into second. She was left on base following a strike out. Binghamton followed with a strike out looking and two strike outs swinging bringing the game into the fourth.

In the fourth with 2 outs, junior second baseman
Dominique Rinaldi (Sayville, NY/Sayville) singled to shortstop followed by an out in center field. In the bottom of the fourth, L'Amoreaux singled to shortstop. The Bearcats then made a change with Sami Levine pinch hitting for Rende. Levine hit a Homer bringing in two more runs for Binghamton making it 11-1. An out was then made at 1st, Dodig singled to center field and then there was a strike out swinging and a ground out at short stop.

In the fifth two outs had been made and Bergdoll answered with her second home run of the weekend making it 2-11. Benderski added a single afterwards, but the game was then closed out by a ground out at 3rd.

The Dolphins face Siena in a doubleheader on Thursday, February 22 at the Spring Games in Madeira Beach, FL. at 1:30pm and 4pm.
