Norfolk, V.A. – The Le Moyne College softball team competed in the last day of the Norfolk State Invitational with an Upstate New York matchup against Syracuse University. The Orange ended up solidifying the win with a score of 11-1 over the Dolphins.
During the first inning, Dybacz singled to left field with two outs on the board but was left on base bringing them to the bottom of the first with one hit, and no runs. The Orange put two runs in the books started off by a single to shortstop from Taylor Posner. During the next at-bat, Posner then stole second. Rebecca Clyde singled to second while Posner advanced to third. Clyde advanced to second on a wild pitch while Posner added a run to the board. Tessa Galipeau singled to left and reached second on the throw while Clyde brought in a second run making it 0-2. Graduate pitcher
Laura Bennet (Corning, NY/Corning-Painted Post) then came to close out the first inning for freshman pitcher

In the second Redshirt junior
Frankie Larobardiere (North Syracuse, N.Y. / Cicero-North Syracuse/ Onondaga C.C.) hit a homerun putting the Dolphins on the board making it 1-2. Two ground outs and a strike out swinging followed sending it to the bottom of the second. Makenzie Foster singled by a bunt while Angel Jasso then singled through the right side helping Foster advance to second. Posner gets hit by a pitch bringing Jasso to second and Foster to third. Madison Knight had a sacrifice fly out to right field bringing Foster home while Posner advanced to second and Jasso advanced to third. Clyde homered to center registering three RBI's sending Posner and Jasso home. Galipeau was then walked and advanced by a passed ball during Laila Morales-Alve doubled to left center bringing home Galipeau. Sophomore catcher

Rose Nicastro (Webster, N.Y. / Webster Thomas) relived Bennett to close out the second.
During the top of the third Dybacz doubled to right center but was left on base heading into the bottom of the third. The orange scored four more runs starting out with a homerun to center field by Clyde bringing in Jasso and then another homerun by Morales-Alve bringing in Galipeau making the score 11-1.
The game ended with a final score of 1-11 Syracuse. The Dolphin's next game is at Delaware State University for a double header tomorrow Tuesday, March 12
th at 12pm and 2pm at DSU Softball Field - Dover, Del.
