Loudonville, N.Y. – Grace Dobrzynski tallied five points to lead Siena College to a 15-4 victory over the Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team on Saturday afternoon at Hickey Field.
The Saints scored the only three goals of the first quarter. Following 10:19 of scoreless action to start the game, Rebecca Gilhooley registered her eighth goal of the season after taking a pass from Dobrzynski. After a Le Moyne yellow card, Elizabeth Wamp scored her fourth goal of the season in the extra-player situation at the 2:25 mark. Just 67 seconds later, Gilhooley tallied an extra-player goal of her own off a feed from Kelly Logue after another Le Moyne yellow card.
Siena scored four times in a span of 1:59 to extend its lead to 7-0 through 20 minutes of action. Dobrzynski started the run at the 12:16 mark by converting a free-position shot. Only 47 seconds later, Kuhn scored her first goal of the campaign off a dish from Dobrzynski, who made it 6-0 32 seconds later with her ninth marker of the season. Jordan Bentley followed 40 seconds later with her fifth goal of the season to cap the burst.
Le Moyne netted the next two goals. Senior attacker
Sarah Hutchings (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) got the Dolphins on the scoreboard with 7:04 left. Sophomore attacker
Bella Sampo (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) made it 7-2 with 4:31 remaining.
Lauren O'Hagan concluded the scoring in the half with her second goal of the season with 3:20 left.
The Saints scored the first two goals of the third quarter to get into double digits. Taryn Asselin registered her 10th goal of the season just over three minutes into the quarter. She scored again just under nine and one-half minutes later.
Junior attacker
Grace Detor (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) found the back of the net with five seconds left to get the Dolphins on the board in the quarter after taking a pass from freshman attacker
Emily Noel (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius).
Meghan Decker opened the scoring in the fourth quarter at the 10:55 mark with her fourth goal of the year.
Freshman midfielder
Julia Blakeslee (Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca) netted her team's final goal of the game with a free-position goal in an extra-player situation with 5:46 to play.
Siena scored the game's final four goals over the last 5:21 to close out the contest. Asselin recorded her 12th goal of the season off a pass from Dobrzynski. Cassidy Bonura converted a free-position shot only 77 seconds later. She converted another attempt with 2:23 left for her second goal of the season. Sarah Irish scored the final goal with 12 seconds to play.
Fifth year goalkeeper
Paige Crandall (Adams, N.Y./South Jefferson) turned away eight shots in the loss. Sabrina Krasner made eight saves (against three goals) over 53:06 to earn the win.
Le Moyne (1-3) returns to the field on Wednesday at Canisius University at 4:00 p.m.
