Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College softball team (10-24, 3-9 NEC) competed against FDU (15-17, 4-7 NEC) for their last game of their home conference series at the Le Moyne Complex Softball Complex. The Knights clinched the series winning Thursdays game, 3-0 over the Dolphins.

Graduate pitcher Laura Bennet (Corning, NY / Corning-Painted Post) and Brooklyn Shroyer battled through the first inning with neither team recording a run. In the top of the second, Andreya Flores landed herself on first base by drawing a walk. Megan Berg then tripled to right center giving Flores the opportunity to score (1-0). Olivia Christopoul fired the ball up the left side slipping through the glove of the third baseman causing an error which she would reach first on and Berg would score (2-0).
 
In the top of the fifth, Isabella Herring singled to right field. Christopoul then doubled to left field as Herring advanced to third. Sydney Newton grounded to Bennett which Bennett quickly turned to first base throwing to freshman second baseman Gabriella Zarcone (Smithtown,, N.Y. / Smithtown East) who would tag Newton at first. Zarcone then threw to graduate student catcher Brandi Feeney (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse/Saint Peter's) as Herring approached home but quickly turned back to third and freshman third baseman Molly Wolf (Horseheads, N.Y. / Horseheads) tagged her out at third. Ayden Stone then doubled to center bringing home Christopoul which would end up being their last run of the day.
 
The Dolphin's next game will be Saturday, April 13^th for another home conference series. Le Moyne will host Stonehill for a doubleheader at 12pm and 2pm on Saturday and 12pm on Sunday at the Le Moyne College Softball Complex.
