BASEBALL LOSES TO WAGNER IN SERIES FINALE

Trenton, N.J. – The Wagner College Seahawks completed a series sweep of the Le Moyne baseball team on Sunday with an 8-0 win at the Trenton Thunder Ballpark.

Wagner sophomore right-handed starting pitcher Ryan Bilka earned the win on the mound after allowing one hit, two walks and zero runs with seven strikeouts in six innings of work, then right-handers Julian Taudin-Chabot and Andrew Stanley and lefty Keith Davis each tossed one scoreless inning in relief.

First baseman Mateo Matthews, outfielder Albert Serrano, second baseman Chris Conniff and shortstop Ariv Camacho each recorded two hits for Wagner during the win, while right fielder Lukas Torres and designated hitter Diego Tavarez both drove in two runs.

Le Moyne starting pitcher Jordan Goldmann (Encinitas, Calif./Canyon Crest Academy/Palomar College/Grossmont College) recorded five strikeouts in 5.1 innings pitched, and sophomore Adam Sullivan (Syracuse, N.Y./Marcellus) made his second collegiate pitching appearance with one scoreless inning in relief on Sunday.

Center fielder Zach Brush (New York Mills, N.Y./Utica Notre Dame) and right fielder Wyatt Patchett (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva) each registered a hit for the Dolphins, while Patchett, shortstop Nick Nevins (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham), catcher Benji Ries (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Adlai E. Stevenson) and Cooper Romich (North Chili, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) each drew a walk.

With the three wins over the Dolphins this weekend, the Seahawks (15-6 NEC) are now tied for first place in the NEC Standings.

Le Moyne now sits in ninth in the conference standings with a 9-11 record against NEC opponents, but are just a couple games back from Merrimack (11-10 NEC) and Coppin State (11-10 NEC) which are tied for fifth place in the standings.

Le Moyne, which has played seven of its last eight games on the road, will play a midweek non-conference game at UAlbany on Tuesday before resuming conference play with a three-game series at Central Connecticut State next weekend. The Dolphins will then conclude the road stretch at Canisius on April 30 before hosting Maryland Eastern Shore for a series at Dick Rockwell Field beginning on Friday, May 3.
