Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College baseball team fell to Merrimack College, 21-3, on Saturday in game two of a Northeast Conference series at Dick Rockwell Field.
Merrimack, which claimed a 15-5 win over the Dolphins on Friday, clinched the series victory ahead of the finale on Sunday at 12 p.m.
Saturday's contest was tied after six innings, but the Warriors went ahead with three runs in the top of the seventh, followed by five in the eighth and 11 more in the ninth. Merrimack tallied six home runs for the second consecutive game, with six different Warriors launching a long ball on Saturday.
For the Dolphins, right fielder
Wyatt Patchett (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva) smashed his team-leading 10
th home run of the season in the bottom of the fourth inning and finished the contest with a team-high two RBIs, while shortstop
Nick Nevins (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham) and first baseman
Dewey Roden (Sherrill, N.Y./Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) each ripped a double during the setback to remain the league leaders in doubles during NEC play with 11 each.
Second baseman
Lukas Egenhauser (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern) added a run and a walk for the Dolphins.
Merrimack registered season highs in hits (24), runs (21) and RBIs (20) during the win. Third baseman Dawson Bryce, the NEC leader in runs (59), hits (79) and doubles (17), went 5-for-7 at the pate with four runs and four RBIs, while second baseman Alex Haba went 4-for-5 and center fielder Christian Gemelli tallied three hits, two RBIs and four runs.
With home runs from Gemelli, Bryce, Matthew Chatelle, Christian Scanlon, Cavan Brady and Chris Goode, Merrimack increased its NEC-leading season home run tally to 98.
Merrimack starting pitcher Campbell Cassidy limited the Dolphins to five hits, four walks and two runs with four strikeouts in five innings pitched, then Michael Dragon collected his second win of the season after logging 1.1 innings pitched in relief.
Le Moyne left-handed starting pitcher
Max Parker (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) conceded five runs and zero walks with six strikeouts in seven innings of work. Parker has now gone at least seven innings in six of his 13 starts this season.

Max Danaher (Fayetteville, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) and
James Musso (Auburn, N.Y./Skaneateles) each appeared in relief for the 'Phins.
