Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College volleyball team continued play in the Salt City Invitational on Friday evening, taking on Canisius University. The Griffins took all three sets to win the first match with set scores of; 25-20, 25-18, 25-13.
For the Dolphins, freshman outside hitter Jordyn Hamlin (Manahawkin, N.J. / Southern Regional) led the squad with eight kills, while also tallying six digs in the match. Junior setter Haley Gerken (Buffalo, N.Y. / Frontier) put up a team-high in assists with 17 while also adding seven digs, and freshman libero Brooke Menke (St. Louis M.O. / Visitation Academy) added the high in digs with nine. Freshman outside hitter Nina Salas (Austin T.X. / McNeil) tallied six kills while freshman setter Skylar Jehlen (Rochester, N.Y. / Churchville-Chili) recorded four assists and two digs for Le Moyne.
For the Griffins, Kara Zaucha recorded the team-high in kills with 14 with Sofia Hedqvist tallying another nine on top of leading the Griffs in digs with 15. Ella Bourque put up a game-high 36 assists and another eight digs while Jilian Hanna added another 13 digs for Canisius in the victory.
The Dolphins will finish out the Salt City Invitational against NJIT at home tomorrow, Aug. 31 at 5:00 P.M.
