Hamilton, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's and women's swimming and diving teams closed out the two-day Colgate University Invite on Saturday afternoon. The men's team ended the meet with 694.5 points, placing them in third behind UMass (1119) and Colgate (773.5) while the women's squad finished in third, as well, with 473 points, behind Colgate (1054.5) and UMass (877) and ahead of Saint Francis (400.5).
Women's Squad:
Senior Brooke Sommo (Guilderland, N.Y. / Guilderland) took fifth place in the 200-yard backstroke with a finals time of 2:15.20.
Sophomore Gabby Williams (Scotia, N.Y. / Scotia-Glenville) earned fourth place in the 3 meter dive, scoring a 213.55.
Men's Team:
Sophomore Lucas Clay (Baldwinsville, N.Y. / C.W. Baker) placed first in the 200-yard breaststroke, coming in with a 2:04.48 finals time. He also placed fourth in the 100-yard freestyle with a finals time of 47.49.
Freshman Owen Daniels (Rhinebeck, N.Y. / Redhook) finished second in the 200-yard backstroke, coming in at the 1:56.34 mark. Fellow freshman Peyton Tuttle (Newburgh, N.Y. / Newburgh) took fifth place in the event with a finals time of 2:02.50.
Freshman John Mummery (New Windsor, N.Y. / Newburgh) placed fifth in the 500-yard freestyle with a finals time of 5:00.17.
Sophomore Alexander Pilieci (Ottawa, O.N. / John McCrae) placed second in the 100-yard butterfly event, coming in with a finals time of 51.37.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team of junior Michael Han (Auckland, N.Z. / Pakuranga College), senior Justin Enser (Hilton, N.Y. / Hilton), Clay, and sophomore Michael White Jr. (Baldwinsville, N.Y. / C.W. Baker) finished third with a finals time of 3:10.61.
