MEN'S AND WOMEN'S SWIM & DIVE TEAMS SET SEVEN RECORDS; BOTH CLAIM VICTORIES OVER CANISIUS ON SENIOR DAY

1/24/2026 6:52:00 PM

Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's and women's swimming and diving teams set seven pool and school records as they celebrated Senior Day and hosted Canisius in a pair of dual meets on Saturday afternoon. The men's team came out on top against the Golden Griffins, 204-92, while the women's squad earned their first NCAA Division I dual meet victory over a fellow DI institution, coming away with a 166-134 victory at the Rev. Vincent B. Ryan, S.J. Pool.

During the pre-meet Senior Day celebration, Zoe Coburn, Brooke Sommo, Emma Winters, Sam Crimmins, Nathaniel Kwait, and Xavier Silaika were recognized for their dedicated contributions to Le Moyne's swimming and diving programs.

"Senior day is a very difficult meet to compete in," said head coach Adam Zaczkowski '04. "Emotions are high...it's mixed with both joy and sadness. Careers are ending, but the season isn't over."

Zaczkowski continued, "Our seniors were our last Division II competitors and they've been through all the swings of reclassification. They've led us valiantly."

"The emotions didn't get the best of us, though. We came out hot with sweeps in diving as Gabby Williams set both pool and school records."

"Following that, the swimmers claimed numerous records; one after another," Zaczkowski added.

"I was really impressed by Maddie O'Dea, Lucas Clay and Owen Daniels. Their swims set the tone."

"The women's meet swung our way with a gutsy swim by Sophia Stinnett in the 500. She came from behind, tracked down the Canisius women and we were off to the races."

"It marked a great first D1 win for the women while the men are 2-0 in the second half of the season."

"Cornell is up next!"
