MEN’S SOCCER CONCLUDES ROAD SLATE WITH 3-0 VICTORY OVER CENTRAL CONNECTICUT STATE

New Britain, Conn. – Senior Cameron Stuart (Fulton, N.Y./G. Ray Bodley) and graduate student Francesco Pagano (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius/Syracuse/Coastal Carolina) each had a goal and an assist to lead the Le Moyne College men's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Central Connecticut State University in NEC action on Thursday afternoon at the CCSU Soccer Field.

With the victory, Le Moyne heads into its regular season finale on Sunday at home against Chicago State at 1:00 p.m. in contention for the final NEC Championship berth. The Dolphins will clinch the fourth and final seed with a win over Chicago State and a loss or tie by Stonehill against LIU. Even if Le Moyne ties and Stonehill loses, the Dolphins lose the tiebreaker to the Skyhawks due to Stonehill's win over Saint Francis, which will be either the first or second seed.

The Dolphins scored the only goal they would need just under five minutes into the game. Redshirt sophomore forward Felix Ludemann (Wrestedt, Germany/Herzog-Ernst-Gymnasium Uelzen) sent a pass from the middle of the field to the right side to Stuart, who carried the ball into the penalty box before sending a centering pass towards the goal box. Sophomore Rhys Allport (Wirral, England/Reaseheath) ran onto the ball, settled it and fired a shot from the top of the goal box into the back of the net at the 4:52 mark for his first goal of the season.

Le Moyne had a 5-4 advantage in shots the remainder of the half, including 2-1 in shots on goal, but neither team was able to find the back of the net.

The Blue Devils recorded the first three shots on goal of the second half, but junior goalkeeper Wyatt Dupell (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) was able to make the save each time.

Pagano doubled Le Moyne's lead with his fifth goal of the season with 18:54 remaining with a shot from the top right corner of the goal box after collecting the ball 15 yards outside the top of the penalty box.

The Dolphins completed the game's scoring in the 77th minute. After Pagano had a shot saved, Stuart was able to knock the rebound into the net for his first goal of the campaign.

Each team put two shots on goal over the final 13 minutes, but Dupell and CCSU goalkeeper Cristian Torres were able to turn the shots away.

Dupell finished the game with six saves en route to recording his fourth shutout of the season. Torres ended with five saves for the Blue Devils.
