BOWLING GREEN PULLS AWAY FOR 83-60 WIN OVER MEN’S BASKETBALL

Bowling Green, Ohio – Javontae Campbell scored 13 second-half points to lead Bowling Green State University to an 83-60 victory over the Le Moyne College men's basketball team on Sunday afternoon at the Stroh Center.

Graduate student forward Shilo Jackson (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central/Vincennes/Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) led Le Moyne in the setback with career highs of 23 points (15 in the first half), 15 rebounds (eight in the first half) and four blocks. Redshirt junior guard Trent Mosquera (Boston, Mass./Belmont Hill School) recorded a career-best 20 points for the second straight game, including 11 in the first half, while pulling down a career-high seven rebounds.
 
Campbell finished the game with 23 points, while adding eight steals, six rebounds and four assists. Josiah Shackelford recorded 18 points, including 12 in the first half. Javon Ruffin had 11 points off the bench, while Sam Towns turned in 10 points and seven rebounds.

After Bowling Green took a 9-6 lead on three free throws from Ruffin, the Dolphins scored the next eight points to take their largest lead of the game. Mosquera made a three-pointer, Jackson had a tip-in and then sophomore guard Jakai Sanders (Brooklyn, N.Y./Eagle Academy/Saint Peter's) buried a three-pointer in transition with 14:58 left.

The Falcons regained the lead with nine of the next 11 points, but Le Moyne countered with three-pointers from Mosquera and junior guard Samuel Hincapie (Medellin, Colombia/Gateway Legacy Prep (Mo.)/Lake Land College) for a 22-18 lead with 10:40 to go.

Bowling Green scored the next five points to take the lead back before the teams traded points over the next six minutes with neither team leading by more than three points.

After Jackson made two free throws with 2:15 left to put the Dolphins up 34-31, the Falcons scored the next six points to take the lead for good. Campbell made a pair of lay-ups around a tip-in by Towns.

Mosquera made a lay-up with one second left to get the Dolphins with 37-36 at halftime.

Bowling Green scored the first eight points of the second half on a lay-up and three-pointer from Justin Thomas around a three-pointer by Towns.

The Dolphins cut their deficit to six with 16:23 left, but the Falcons answered with 10 of the next 12 points to take a 14-point lead for the first time. Campbell scored six of the points, capped by a conventional three-point play.

Following a 5-0 Le Moyne spurt to get within single digits for the final time with 11:23 left, the Falcons responded with nine of the next 11 points for a 66-50 lead with 7:40 to play. Ruffin scored five of the points.

Bowling Green's lead bounced between 13 and 16 points over two minutes before a conventional three-point play from Campbell and a lay-up from Shackelford put the Falcons up 19 for the first time.

Sanders made a jumper with 1:41 left to get the Dolphins within 76-60, but Bowling Green scored the final seven points of the game. Campbell made two free throws, Towns hit a three-pointer and then Mayar Wol capped the scoring with two free throws.

Le Moyne (1-2) returns to action on Thursday at the University of Massachusetts at 7:00 p.m.
