Clinton, S.C. – In their final game at the OneSpartanburg, Inc. Baseball Classic, the Le Moyne College baseball team suffered a 12-1 setback against the Presbyterian College Blue Hose Sunday afternoon at the PC Baseball Complex.
Presbyterian, which claimed a 3-2 walk-off win over the Dolphins on Friday, had nine players cross the plate Saturday, and had seven players record an RBI during the non-conference victory.
Outfielder Evan Cuervo recorded a game-high three hits in addition to two runs scored and two RBIs for the Blue Hose, while shortstop Brody Linker tallied two hits, two runs and two RBIs, and designated hitter Jake Randolph added two hits, a run and two runs batted in.
Presbyterian junior right-handed starting pitcher Robbie Boykin registered his first victory of the season after holding the Dolphins to three hits, two walks and zero runs with three strikeouts through the first 5.0 innings.
Freshman
Tim Denet (West Harrison, N.Y./Iona Prep) produced Le Moyne's lone run with a solo home run in the top of the seventh after entering the contest as a pinch hitter. Denet, who homered in his first collegiate at bat last weekend against Tennessee Tech, now leads the Dolphins with two home runs on the year. Denet poked a single to right-center field in the top of the ninth to finish the contest with a team-high two hits.

Billy Hoffacker (Erial, N.J./Timber Creek/Rowan College of South Jersey) made his first appearance of the weekend for Le Moyne in relief, tallying three strikeouts with two runs allowed in 3.0 innings. Junior left-hander
Colin Skermont (Yorkville, N.Y./Whitesboro/Herkimer) also recorded three strikeouts with two runs allowed in the final 2.0 innings for the Dolphins.
Luke Gibson, Tyrell Williams and Boone Cartee each tossed 1.0 scoreless inning in relief for the Blue Hose.
The Le Moyne baseball team will return to action next weekend with a three-game series at Wofford. Game one between the Dolphins and the Terriers is set for Friday at 5:30 p.m.
