Liverpool, N.Y. – The Saint Francis University Red Flash recorded a 7-0 win over the Le Moyne College women's tennis team Sunday evening at the Elevate Fitness courts in Liverpool.

The Red Flash improve to 3-0 in Northeast Conference play with the victory, while the Dolphins drop to 1-1 against league competition.

SFU claimed two of the three doubles matches to capture the first point of the contest. Morgan Tuffs and Kelly Dowuona recorded a 6-1 victory over juniors Alicia Alvarez (Madrid, Spain/IES Ortega y Gasset) and Stella Simeonova (Sofia, Bulgaria/National Gymnasium of Mathematics and Natural Sciences) in the third position.

Sophomore Ella Fernando (Manchester, England/Stonyhurst College) and graduate Feriel Mahbouli (Tunis, Tunisia/Lycee 36/South Carolina State) tallied a 6-2 win over Dasha Chichkina and Diana Zuba in no. 1 doubles, but Sara Jankovic and Kally Kadzinski bested senior Isabella Barona (Manta, Ecuador/Talentos de Manta) and junior Paula Casares (A Coruna, Spain/Colegio Maristas Cristo Rey) by a score of 6-3 in the second position to secure the point.

SFU then went on to win all five of the singles matches to close out the 7-0 conference victory.

In the first position, Zuba recorded a 6-2, 6-0 win over Mahbouli. Chichkina bested Fernando 6-3, 6-3 in no. 2 singles, and Dowuona registered a 6-3, 6-2 win over Casares in the third position.

In a tightly contested no. 4 singles match, Jankovic narrowly defeated Barona, 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (7-2), 1-0 (10-7), Kadzinski provided a 9-7 win over Alvarez and Tuffs defeated Simeonova, 8-4.
