Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College women's basketball team will look to remain perfect at home in Northeast Conference play when they host the Saint Francis University Red Flash Thursday evening at Ted Grant Court.
The conference matchup will tip-off at 6:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on
NEC Front Row. Fans can also tune into the Le Moyne radio broadcast for pregame, in-game and postgame coverage on The Voice of Syracuse – WSIC 106.3FM & 1540AM and at wvoaradio.com
The Matchup:
Le Moyne and Saint Francis split their two meetings against one another during the 2023-24 season, with each side claiming a win at home. The Red Flash continued that trend in 2024-25 with a 73-41 victory over the Dolphins in Loretto on January 11. Le Moyne freshman guard
Eli Clark (Oakhurst, N.J./Ocean Township) and graduate forward
Haedyn Roberts (Holland Patent, N.Y./Holland Patent) each scored 11 points for the Dolphins during the setback, while SFU freshman guard Airah Lavy led all scorers with 14 points.
Le Moyne shot just 2-of-18 from three-point range in the first meeting this season, while the Red Flash went 9-of-20 from beyond the arc, tallied 45 bench points and recorded 16 second-chance points on 14 offensive rebounds.
The Red Flash are currently tied for second in the NEC Standings alongside Stonehill and Central Connecticut State with a 5-3 conference record, while the Dolphins sit in sixth place with a 3-4 NEC resume.
Thursday's contest against the Red Flash will mark the first time this season that the Dolphins have played an NEC opponent for the second time.
Dolphin Rundown:
Le Moyne is currently 3-0 at home in conference play, and have won three of their last four contests. The Dolphins most recently recorded a 62-52 win over Wagner College on February 1 at Ted Grant, which marked their largest margin of victory so far this season. The Dolphins trailed the Seahawks 44-42 at the end of the third quarter, but outscored the visitors 20-8 in the final period.
Sierra Linnin (Valley Cottage, N.Y./Albertus Magnus) scored a game-high 17 points with four made threes, three rebounds and two steals against Wagner, and was subsequently named an NEC Prime Performer for the third time this season on Monday.
Roberts and graduate guard
Megan Bodziony (Wakefield, R.I./St. Andrew's School/Fordham/Bryant) also scored in double figures during the double-digit win with 12 points each, while senior guard
Emily Florvil (Brooklyn, N.Y./Nazareth) added seven points, seven rebounds and two assists.
The Dolphins tallied 14 assists on 22 made fields against the Seahawks, with Bodziony and Clark both providing three, and Linnin, Florvil,
Brianna Williams (Brampton, Ontario/Southwest Academy/Hartford) and
Mia Yanogacio (Somerset, N.J./Rutgers Prep/Delaware) each contributing two, which marked just the second time this season that Le Moyne had six or more players register multiple assists.
Roberts still leads the Dolphins in scoring with 10.8 per game, and has upped that average to 13.3 during Le Moyne's seven conference games. She has scored in double figures in each of the team's last six contests.
Linnin is second on the squad in scoring with 9.5 points per game, but during Le Moyne's three victories she is averaging 19.3 points with the help of her career-high 28-point outing against Chicago State during which she tied a single game program record with seven made three-point field goals.
On the year Linnin is second in the NEC in made threes per game with 2.6, and she is shooting 36.6% from beyond the arc.
Clark, who has logged at least 35 minutes in each of Le Moyne's last four games, is currently second among NEC players in assists per conference game with 4.1. She has also scored in double figures seven times this season and has been named an NEC Prime Performer on two occasions.
As a team, the Dolphins are third in the NEC in made threes per game (6.6) and three throw percentage (.752) during conference play.
