DeWitt, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's tennis team registered its third straight victory, 4-3, over Niagara University on Friday night at Elevate Fitness.

Callum Matthew (Dorset, England) and
Lorenzo Bortolaso (Bassano del Grappa, Italy/IT IS Enrico Fermi) earned the first win with a sweep of Gurustat Makkar and Mikolaj Kowal at the second position, 6-0. Senior
Peter Hatton (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt/Club Med Academics/Army West Point) and junior
Adrian Daniel (Tel Aviv, Israel/Montana State) clinched the point with a 7-5 win at the top spot over Tanner Bedard and Vid Maric. With the victory, Hatton tied Philip Blythe '21 for the second-most doubles wins in the program's history with his 56th. Trevor Masi and Jose Garcia were leading freshmen
Jacob Maravillas (Bergenfield, N.J./Homeschooled) and
Luke Hoyland (Sheffield, England/Birkdale School) at the third position, 6-5, when the point was decided.
The Dolphins won the match by splitting the singles competition with the Purple Eagles. Hatton registered his third straight victory, 6-4, 6-2, at the top spot over Bedard. Matthew won at the fourth position over Makkar, 6-4, 6-2. Bortolaso improved to 3-0 in dual matches by defeating Garcia at the sixth spot, 7-5, 1-6, 6-4. Masi picked up Niagara's first point with back-to-back 6-2 wins at the second position over Maravillas. Maric evened the match at two apiece by downing Daniel at the third spot, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5). Kowal knotted the score at three apiece with a 6-4, 6-1 win at the fifth position over Hoyland.
Le Moyne (3-2) is back on the courts on Sunday against Colgate University at 2:00 p.m. at Drumlins Country Club.
