North Easton, Mass. – The Le Moyne College women's basketball team suffered a 65-61 setback against the Stonehill College Skyhawks on Saturday in their final road game of the 2024-25 regular season.
The contest contained 15 lead changes and five ties, but the Skyhawks outscored the Dolphins 18-15 in the final 10 minutes to avenge a 69-67 loss in Syracuse on January 20.
Graduate forward
Haedyn Roberts (Holland Patent, N.Y./Holland Patent) led Le Moyne with a career-high 27 points to go along with six rebounds and two steals. Roberts, who ranks third in program history in career free-throw percentage, went 6-of-6 from the line. The Holland Patent native has now scored at least 20 points in three consecutive games for the Dolphins.
Senior guard
Emily Florvil (Brooklyn, N.Y./Nazareth) tallied seven points, four assists and a career-high 10 rebounds, including six offensive rebounds. The Dolphins grabbed 16 offensive rebounds as a team, the second-most offensive rebounds that they have recorded in a game this season, and the most they've compiled against an NEC opponent. Le Moyne tallied a season-high 22 second-chance points during the setback.
Junior guard
Sierra Linnin (Valley Cottage, N.Y./Albertus Magnus) also scored in double figures for Le Moyne with 13 points via three made threes and four free throws, while junior guard
Michelina Lombardi (Wynantskill, N.Y./Averill Park) registered a career-high three steals.
Sophomore guard Brooke Paquette led Stonehill with 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field with seven rebounds. Senior guard Sharn Hayward shot 7-of-13 from the field and 4-of-9 from three-point range to finish the contest with 18 points for the Skyhawks, while graduate forward Kylie Swider tallied 13 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and two blocks.
Freshman forward Megan Sias was the fourth Skyhawk to score in double figures with 12 points and seven rebounds, while senior forward Maureen Stapleton pulled down 10 boards to go along with three assists, one block and one steal.
Le Moyne committed just seven turnovers during the 40 minutes, the fewest they have recorded in a game this season, but the Skyhawks also recorded a season-low in turnovers with nine.
Stonehill shot 44.1% (26-59) from the field during the win and tallied 13 second-chance points on 15 offensive rebounds.
The win marked Stonehill's first victory over Le Moyne since the 2019-20 campaign, and its first victory against Le Moyne as Division I foes.
Stonehill improves to 10-5 against Northeast Conference competition with the win, while Le Moyne drops to 6-9 in league play.
Le Moyne will play its final game of the regular season at home on Thursday against FDU.
Both Le Moyne and Stonehill will compete in the eight-team NEC Tournament, which is set to begin on March 10.
