Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's basketball team will wrap up the 2024-25 regular season with its second matchup of the year against the Stonehill Skyhawks in Easton, Mass. at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Mar. 1.

Series History:
Le Moyne and Stonehill have an expansive program history as the two teams were conference rivals in the NE10 from the 1996-97 season to 2021-22 and currently the NEC since last year.

The Dolphins currently hold a 26-18 record all-time against the Skyhawks with their first win coming in the 1962-63 season. Le Moyne went 3-1 in their annual matchup from '62-'66 before not playing again until joining the NE10 prior to the '96-'97 campaign. Since then, the two squads have met on 35 occasions as conference rivals in the regular season, with the 'Phins holding a 19-16 record. They also boast a 3-1 record all-time against Stonehill in conference tournaments.

In 2023-24, Le Moyne's first season in the NEC, Le Moyne pulled off a series sweep, taking down the Skyhawks, 88-57, on the road on Feb. 8 and 75-67 at home on Feb. 17. In their first matchup this season at Ted Grant Court on Monday, Jan. 20, the Dolphins came away with a 73-72 victory behind a then career-best 20 points from graduate guard Robby Carmody (Mars, Pa./Mars Area/Notre Dame/Mercer) and 19 from sophomore guard AJ Dancler (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport).

Dolphins' Season:
Le Moyne's squad is 9-21 overall and are currently tied with Chicago State at the bottom of the NEC standings with a 4-11 record in conference play this season.

After going 5-10 through their non-conference schedule to begin the season, the Dolphins kicked off NEC action with back-to-back losses against LIU and FDU from Jan. 3-10. The squad went 2-1 in their next three, defeating Mercyhurst and Stonehill at home while falling to Chicago State on the road in mid-to-late January.

The Dolphins endured a five-game losing streak that lasted from Jan. 24-Feb. 8 before winning back-to-back conference games for the first time against Wagner and Chicago Sate, at home, Feb. 13 and 15. Since then, Le Moyne has gone 0-3 with three-straight losses to Saint Francis, LIU, and CCSU in recent weeks.

In the squads most recent loss to CCSU (84-75) on Thursday night, Dancler led all scorers with 25 points while draining three from beyond the arc and going a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line. He added four rebounds, four assists, and three steals in the loss. In 15 conference games this season, Dancler is second in scoring (19.6) and assists (4.5), seventh in field-goal percentage (.453), and first in three-point field-goal percentage (.400) and minutes per game (37.0).

Redshirt sophomore forward Nate Fouts (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles/Kimball Union Academy) recorded career-highs in both points (22) and assists (seven) while adding seven rebounds and going 4-5 from three-point range against the Blue Devils. Fouts has averaged 8.6 points and 4.5 rebounds overall this season, and sits second on the squad with 11 blocks through 30 appearances.

Behind Le Moyne's double-digit scorers in the matchup was redshirt junior forward Dwayne Koroma (Berlin, Germany/Bishop Walsh (Md.)/Iona/Salt Lake C.C./UT Arlington) who added nine points on 4-9 shooting from the field while adding a team-high nine rebounds along with two steals against CCSU. Koroma leads the NEC with 8.0 rebounds per game in 14 conference matchups this season and also ranks sixth with 1.6 steals per game.

Le Moyne is second in the NEC in scoring (73.1 points per game) and three-point rate (.352), third in assists (13.67), and tied for third in field-goal percentage (.465) through 15 conference games.

A Look at the Skyhawks:
Stonehill sits with a 14-16 record overall after going 8-7 through their non-conference slate and 6-9 since conference play began in early January.

The Skyhawks opened NEC play without winning or losing back-to-back contests through their first eight games played. In that span that lasted from Friday, Jan. 3 to Saturday, Feb. 1, the team earned wins over Saint Francis, Wagner, and Chicago State twice, while falling to LIU, Le Moyne, FDU, and CCSU. Stonehill lost their next matchup, 62-59, against LIU on the road on Saturday, Feb. 8 to break the streak.

The team then won back-to-back contests at home against Saint Francis and Mercyhurst on Thursday and Saturday, Feb. 13 and 15 before kicking off their active three-game losing streak that has lasted since Thursday, Feb. 20. In those three games, the Skyhawks dropped road matchups to Wagner, CCSU, and most recently, FDU, 82-69, on Thursday, Feb. 27.

In the loss to the Knights, sophomore forward Louie Semona tallied a game-high 24 points on 11-20 shooting while bringing in a team-leading nine rebounds along with three assists. Semona ranks ninth in the NEC in scoring (15.7 points per game) and field-goal percentage (.435), fifth in three-pointers made per game (2.1), and 10th in rebounding (5.6).

Freshman guard Hermann Koffi trailed behind Semona with 16 points while going 5-8 from the field and 3-4 from three-point range. He added one rebound and one steal against FDU, as well. Koffi has averaged 9.5 points with a .456 field-goal percentage and .367 three-point rate in 30 appearances this season.

Junior guard Chas Stinson rounded out the Skyhawks' double-digit scorers in the loss, dropping 12 points with eight rebounds, one assist, and one steal. Stinson has recorded 8.5 points and 5.0 rebounds while leading the team with 75 assists, 52 steals, and 25 blocks while starting all 30 team games this season.

Stonehill is second in the conference in three-point field-goals made (7.8), and fourth in both rebounds (24.3) and assist/turnover ratio (1.16), while sitting at the bottom of the ranks, stealing only 5.33 times through 15 conference games played.

What's Next:
The Dolphins will claim the seventh seed (and face second-seeded LIU) in next week's NEC Tournament with a win against Stonehill and a Chicago State loss at Saint Francis on Saturday afternoon. They will be the eighth seed (and play Central Connecticut State) with a loss or a Chicago State win.
