Salisbury, Md. – The Le Moyne College baseball team won both games of a doubleheader at University of Maryland Eastern Shore Saturday by scores of 12-2 and 11-4 to claim a Northeast Conference series sweep against the Hawks and improve their winning streak to four games.
Game 1:
Le Moyne claimed a 12-2 win in game one of the doubleheader in seven innings. Graduate left-handed starting pitcher
Max Parker (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) earned his first win of the season on the mound after limiting the Hawks to two unearned runs in 6.0 innings of work. Junior left-hander
Colin Skermont (Yorkville, N.Y./Whitesboro/Herkimer) recorded a 1-2-3 inning in the bottom of the seventh to close out the win.
Le Moyne freshman
Derek Diaz (White Plains, N.Y./Iona Prep) launched his first career home run and tallied season highs in hits (2), runs (2), and RBIs (3) during the win.
Sophomore infielder
Ethan Farina (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa/Saint Rose) also recorded a season-high three runs batted in with a bases-clearing double in the top of the second.
Freshman infielder
Tim Denet (West Harrison, N.Y./Iona Prep) registered a season-high three hits and a season-high three runs scored during the win, while junior outfielder
Paulie Goodness (Palmyra, N.Y./Palmyra-Macedon/Finger Lakes Community College) tallied season highs in runs (2), hits (2) and RBIs (2). Junior outfielder
Tyler Campbell (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill/Onondaga C.C.) added two hits and a run.
UMES junior catcher Jonathan Gonzales Perez led the Hawks at the plate with two hits, one run, and one RBI during the setback.
After Le Moyne claimed game one of the series by a score of 7-2 on Friday, UMES took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first in game two of the series on Saturday with RBI singles from Gonzalez and sophomore DH Bronson Taylor, but Le Moyne tallied six runs in the top of the second, followed by three runs in the third and two in the fourth to open up an 11-2 lead.
An RBI single from Campbell in the fifth made it 12-2 in favor of the Dolphins, and the 10-run rule came into effect after seven innings of action.
Game 2:
Le Moyne struck quickly in the series finale, opening up a 10-1 lead after four innings.

Mike Whelehan (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton), junior infielder
Adam Sullivan (Syracuse, N.Y./Marcellus), and Goodness recorded two RBIs each during the win, while sophomore catcher
Cooper Romich (North Chili, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) provided three runs and two hits, and senior outfielder
Wyatt Patchett (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva) smashed his third home run of the season to help the Dolphins close out the NEC series sweep and register their fourth conference victory in a row.
Sophomore right-handed starting pitcher
AJ Petraitis (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) went 4.1 innings in his fourth start of the season, then graduate right-hander
Joel Connors (Brampton, Ontario/Heart Lake/Lakeland Community College/St. Bonaventure) recorded his first win on the mound after limiting the Hawks to two hits, one run and zero walks with three strikeouts in 4.2 innings in relief.
UMES junior infielder Diego Aponte recorded two hits, one run and two RBIs for the Hawks during the series finale.
