Alexa Strelick (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) tallied a career-best six points points to lead the Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team to a 15-5 victory over Delaware State University in the Northeast Conference opener for both teams on Saturday at Drass Field.
Delaware State opened the game's scoring at the 12:53 as Saniya Craft tallied her first goal of the season.

Julia Blakeslee (Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca) knotted the score at one apiece with 10:13 left by converting a free-position shot in an extra-player situation for her seventh goal of the year. Freshman attacker
Mackenzie Prentice (Clay, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) put the Dolphins in front with her third goal of the year with 5:50 left. Just 30 seconds later, Strelick scored her fourth goal of the campaign. Strelick scored off a free-position shot with 57 seconds left to cap the scoring in the period.
The teams traded goals over the opening four minutes of the second quarter. London Stewart scored at the 14:00 mark off a free-position shot in an extra-player situation for the Hornets. Junior midfielder
Sara Hunter (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) put the Dolphins back up by three with her fifth marker of the season with 12:27 left off a feed from Strelick. London Downing answered 20 seconds later with her ninth goal of the season. Junior midfielder
Jane Austenfeld (Lisle, N.Y./Whitney Point) made it a three-goal game again with her third tally of the year with 11:13 left after taking a pass from Strelick.

Maddi Barney (Lorraine, N.Y./South Jefferson) gave Le Moyne its first four-goal lead with 8:45 remaining off a free-position shot for her sixth goal of the campaign. Freshman midfielder
Carrie Bennett (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) followed 34 seconds left with a rebound tally after a shot was saved for her fifth goal of the year. Barney scored again with 5:22 to go after collecting a feed from Strelick. Strelick closed out the scoring in the half with 20 seconds left by finishing off a pass in transition from senior attacker

After being held scoreless for 20:14, the Hornets ended their drought with 6:53 left as Dylan Wilkes converted a free-position shot in an extra-player situation.
