Bella Sampo (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) tallied a career-high six points to lead the Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team to a 19-0 victory over Central Connecticut State University in Northeast Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Ted Grant Field.
The shutout is the fourth in the program's history and the first since a 17-0 win over Merrimack College on April 16, 2016. The 19 goals are the most in any of the team's shutouts, eclipsing the 17 against Merrimack and on April 11, 2015 at Pace and 16 at Binghamton on April 10, 2002.
The Dolphins jumped on the Blue Devils out of the gates with 10 goals in the first quarter. Freshman attacker
Mackenzie Prentice (Clay, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) started the scoring at the 13:03 mark with her fourth goal of the season off a feed from Sampo, who then scored her fourth goal of the year 27 seconds later. Senior attacker
Reagan McQuade (Endwell, N.Y./Maine-Endwell) converted a free-position shot at the 10:18 mark for her seventh tally of the season. Sophomore attacker
Emily Noel (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) posted her fourth goal of the year with 8:25 left off a dish from Prentice, who then finished off a feed from Sampo 33 seconds later. Sophomore midfielder
Julia Blakeslee (Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca) registered her eighth goal of the season with 6:39 remaining to force a Central Connecticut State timeout. Just 10 seconds after the timeout, Sampo found the back of the net after taking a pass from junior attacker
Alexa Strelick (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas). Just over one minute later, Blakeslee converted a free-position goal for an 8-0 lead. Junior midfielder
Sara Hunter (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) picked up her seventh goal of the campaign with 2:52 left after receiving a pass from Prentice. Hunter converted a free-position shot with 1:11 to go to give the Dolphins a double-digit lead.
Le Moyne added three goals in the second quarter. Just over three minutes into the stanza, McQuade finished off a feed from Hunter. Blakeslee posted her 10th goal of the season with 6:54 until halftime. Senior attacker
Haley Emmick (Penfield, N.Y./Penfield) tallied her fifth goal of the year with 5:09 remaining after collecting a pass from Sampo.
The Dolphins tacked on three more goals in the third quarter. Following eight minutes of scoreless action to start the period, Strelick converted a free-position shot for her seventh goal of the season. Just under 90 seconds later, Sampo scored off a feed from Prentice in an extra-player situation. Junior midfielder
Jane Austenfeld (Lisle, N.Y./Whitney Point) followed with her fourth goal of the season with 2:57 left.
Le Moyne closed out the scoring with another three goals in the final quarter. Just over five minutes into the stanza, Austenfeld scored her second straight goal after receiving a feed from Noel. Blakeslee made it 18-0 with her fourth goal of the game with 8:19 to play. Senior attacker
Grace Detor (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) wrapped up the game's scoring with 6:32 remaining with her fifth tally of the year after taking a pass from Noel.

Amanda Manfredi (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) did not face a shot in 30 minutes of action in earning the win, while senior
Emma Regan (Frederick, Md./Urbana) turned away five shots in the second half. Senior defender
Katherine Amico (Fayetteville, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) led the Dolphin defense with four caused turnovers and four ground balls. Maeve Tobler made six saves (against 16 goals) over 45 minutes in the loss.
