Philadelphia, Pa. – The Le Moyne College women's tennis team registered a 4-0 non-conference victory over Coppin State University Sunday afternoon at the SJU Tennis Complex.
Le Moyne claimed the first point of the day as
Isabella Barona (Manta, Ecuador/Talentos de Manta) and
Paula Casares (A Coruna, Spain/Colegio Maristas Cristo Rey) claimed a 6-1 win over CSU's Sky Carter and Alison Azarak in the No. 3 doubles match, and
Feriel Mahbouli (Tunis, Tunisia/Lycee 36/South Carolina State) and
Ella Fernando (Manchester, England/Stonyhurst College) won by default in the first position.
Fernando recorded a 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 win over Megan Etienne in the No. 2 singles match, sophomore
Lilia Raiss (Temara, Morocoo/Descartes) improved to 3-0 in singles this spring with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Carter in the third position, and Alvarez won by default in the sixth position.
The Le Moyne women's tennis team will resume NEC play this Saturday against FDU at the Elevate Fitness courts in DeWitt.
