Syracuse, N.Y. – Lindsey Lucia tallied five points to lead LIU to a 9-5 victory over the Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team in Northeast Conference action on Saturday at Ted Grant Field.
Following almost 10 minutes of scoreless action to start the game, Julia Trainor got the Sharks on the scoreboard with her 18th goal of the season. Lucia netted her first goal of the day with 52 seconds left off a free-position shot.
Trainor pushed the lead to 3-0 just 23 seconds into the second quarter off a pass from Lucia. Despite the Sharks playing shorthanded, Ava Taylor registered her 11th goal of the season with 12:27 to play.

Sara Hunter (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) got the Dolphins on the scoreboard with 9:01 to go until halftime after receiving a pass from junior attacker

Selia Lyons completed the scoring in the half with 6:16 left off a free-position shot for her fifth marker of the campaign.
The Sharks scored the first three goals of the third quarter to take their largest lead. Following almost six and one-half minutes of scoreless action, Catherine Batterberry finished off a pass from Lucia for her eighth goal of the season. Batterberry scored again just 55 seconds later after collecting a pass from Lyons. After an LIU timeout, Lucia made it 8-1 with 5:36 to go.
Le Moyne ended its second 21-minute scoring drought of the game with a pair of goals in 30 seconds. After scooping up a loose ball in front of the net, junior attacker
Bella Sampo (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) netted her seventh goal of the season with 2:57 to go. Strelick followed with her eighth goal of the campaign with 2:27 left in the quarter.
Sampo extended Le Moyne's run to three straight by finding the back of the net with 11:13 left in the fourth quarter.
Lucia pushed the Sharks' lead back to five with 9:31 to play after receiving a feed from Ava Hernandez.

Emily Noel (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) tallied her sixth goal of the season after taking a pass from the left side from freshman attacker
Mackenzie Prentice (Clay, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) with 3:17 remaining.

Amanda Manfredi (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) tallied 12 saves in the setback. Mylie Norton also turned away 12 saves for the Sharks.
Le Moyne (3-8, 2-2 NEC) is on the road for its next two games, starting with Wagner College on Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
