AJ DANCLER NAMED TO NORTHEAST CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM

Bridgewater, N.J. – Le Moyne College sophomore AJ Dancler (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport) has been named to the Northeast Conference men's basketball All-Conference Second Team, as voted upon by the league's nine head coaches and announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.

Dancler is the first Dolphin sophomore to earn all-conference honors since Laurence Ekperigin '10 was named to the Northeast-10 Conference First Team in 2007-08 and the first Dolphin non-senior to be recognized since Kobi Nwandu '20 was tabbed to the NE10 Second Team in 2018-19.

An NEC Prime Performer each of the last eight weeks, Dancler leads the Dolphins in scoring (15.1), three-point percentage (.416, 67-161) and assists (99), while ranking second in steals (33). He has scored in double digits in 19 of 29 games played, including 18 of the last 19 games, during which he is averaging 19.4 points. The team's leading scorer in 14 games, including each of the last nine game, he has scored at least 20 points in seven games, including a career-best 32 points at Mercyhurst on February 8. He ranks second in the conference in three-pointers made (67, 2.31 per game), third in three-point percentage, fourth in scoring, sixth in assists per game (3.41), seventh in assist/turnover ratio (1.27) and minutes per game (31.79), 10th in free throw percentage (.773) and 15th in steals per game (1.14).
 
In 16 NEC contests, he averaged 20.125 points (second-best in the conference by just 0.008) to go with 4.5 assists (second-best in the conference). He also led the conference in three-pointers made (47, 2.94 per game) and minutes per game (37.06) and was fourth in three-point percentage (.412, 47-114), sixth in assist-turnover ratio (1.47), 11th in free throw percentage (.803, 61-76) and steals per game (1.31), 12th in defensive rebounds per game (4.13) and 13th in field goal percentage (.453, 107-236).

Le Moyne (9-22) opens pursuit of its first NEC Tournament championship on Wednesday at top-seeded Central Connecticut State University at 7:00 p.m.
