Syracuse, N.Y. – Le Moyne College softball's junior first baseman Audrey Benderski (Spring Lake Park, Minn./Spring Lake Park) has been named the Northeast Conference (NEC) Softball Player of the Week for her performance during the Dolphin's road doubleheader against Colgate on Wednesday, Apr. 23 and conference series victory at home over Mercyhurst this past Sunday-Monday, Apr. 27-28.
Over the team's most recent five games, Benderski slashed .615/.688/1.231 with a 1.919 OPS while going 8-13 at the plate. She tallied a pair of doubles, two homeruns, two walks, one hit by pitch, eight RBI, and five runs scored. Benderski registered her pair of homeruns as well as seven RBI to help lead the Dolphins to their second NEC series victory of the season.
Benderski is currently slashing .263/.349/.526, is tied for the team lead with eight homeruns, and is second in slugging percentage, OPS, and RBI (25). She's added six doubles, 14 walks, and 15 runs scored over 41 starts this season.
Benderski as well as senior middle infielder Dominique Rinaldi (Sayville, N.Y/Sayville) were also named NEC Prime Performers.
Rinaldi was scorching hot at the plate this past week, going 8-10 with a 1.669 OPS in five games for Le Moyne. She added one double, two walks, one sac fly, two stolen bases, four RBI, and five runs scored to the stat sheet, as well.
