HATTON REPEATS AS NEC PLAYER OF THE YEAR AS FOUR FROM MEN’S TENNIS EARN ALL-CONFERENCE RECOGNITION

Bridgewater, N.J. – Le Moyne College senior Peter Hatton (Syracuse, NY/Jamesville-DeWitt/ Club Med Academics/Army West Point) has been named the Northeast Conference men's tennis Player of the Year for the second straight year, as voted upon by the head coaches and announced by the conference office on Friday morning.
 
Hatton, who is the sixth player to repeat as NEC Player of the Year, was also named to the all-conference first team at singles. Hatton and junior Adrian Daniel (Tel Aviv, Israel/Montana State) were selected to the all-conference first team for their play in doubles action. Freshmen Lorenzo Bortolaso (Bassano del Grappa, Italy/IT IS Enrico Fermi) and Jacob Maravillas (Bergenfield, N.J./Homeschooled) were tabbed to the all-rookie team.
 
Hatton closed out his career in remarkable fashion by going 18-4 in singles action, including 16-1 at the first position, including wins in each of his last 15 decisions, and 2-3 at Fall invitationals. He went 7-0 in Le Moyne's seven conference matches and then was 1-0 in the NEC Tournament. He closed out his two seasons in the NEC by going 15-1 against league foes.
 
Hatton and Daniel registered a mark of 13-1 as a duo at the first position, including 6-0 in conference play. They won their first 13 decisions before falling in the NEC Tournament.

Bortolaso completed his first collegiate season with an overall singles record of 9-9, which included marks of 6-4 in dual matches, 3-5 in Fall invitationals and 3-2 in NEC action. He went 12-11 in doubles play, including 8-8 in dual matches, 4-3 in invitationals and 4-2 in NEC play.

Maravillas capped his first collegiate campaign with an overall singles mark of 5-16, including 3-11 in dual matches, 2-5 in invitationals and 1-4 against NEC foes. He went 12-14 in doubles action, including 8-9 in dual matches, 4-5 in invitationals and 4-2 against NEC opponents.
 
Le Moyne, which earned the second seed in the NEC Championship after going 5-2 in league play, finished its second season at the Division I level with an 9-11 record.
