MEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO NIAGARA IN FINAL NON-CONFERENCE MATCH

Niagara University, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 setback at Niagara University in their final non-conference game of the season Friday evening. Le Moyne conceded two second-half goals after receiving a red card in the 27th minute of the match.

Despite playing the final 18:11 of the first half with 10 men, Le Moyne kept the match scoreless at halftime, and held the advantage in shots on goal, 3-2. The Dolphins recorded five corner kicks in the first 45 minutes, compared to two for the Purple Eagles.

Niagara converted both of its goal off of set pieces. Reon Tezuka hit the back of the net in the 49th minute following a free kick from the right side to give the Purple Eagles a 1-0 lead, then the home team doubled its advantage in the 60th minute as Chase Dade headed home a corner kick taken by Juan Cardona.

Soon after going down 2-0, Le Moyne received a second red card in the 62nd minute, forcing the Dolphins to play with nine men on the field for the remainder of the match.

Niagara outshot Le Moyne 14-2 during the second half.

Le Moyne redshirt-sophomore forward Felix Ludemann (Wrestedt, Germany/Herzog-Ernst-Gymnasium Uelzen) recorded a team-high four shots for the Dolphins, with one shot on target.

Sophomore forward Rhys Allport (Wirral, England/Reaseheath), junior defender/midfielder Maximilian Huss (Karben, Germany/Elly-Heuss-Schule) and junior defender Cole Biasi (Buford, Ga./Flowery Branch/Georgia State) each added one shot on goal for Le Moyne.

Le Moyne junior goalkeeper Wyatt Dupell (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) tallied five saves during the setback.

Tezuka registered a team-high four shots for the Purple Eagles, with two shots on target. Niagara goalkeeper Julien Casimir recorded four saves to collect his first clean sheet of the season.
