Syracuse, N.Y. – Sophomore Lucas Clay (Baldwinsville, N.Y. / C.W. Baker), sophomore Louis Allison (Queensbury, N.Y. / Queensbury), and freshman Owen Daniels (Rhinebeck, N.Y. / Redhook) have swept the NEC Men's Swimming and Diving Weekly Award honors for their performances during Le Moyne's dual meet victory over Canisius University on Saturday, Jan. 24
Clay was named the NEC Men's Swimmer of the Week after setting three pool records and earning four first-place finishes during the meet. He set a new pool record and finished in first place as part of the 400-yard medley relay with a personal time of 53.74 and final time of 3:22.52. He went on to set another pool record and earn another first-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a final time of 54.79.
Clay set his final pool record of the meet and finished in first place in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:00.37, and later placed first as part of 200-yard freestyle relay with a personal time of 21.49 and final time of 1:25.43.
Allison earned Men's Diver of the Week honors after coming in first place in the one-meter dive with a score of 300.10.
Daniels earned the NEC Men's Rookie of the Week honors after helping Clay set a pool record and finish in first place as part of the 400-yard medley relay with a personal time of 51.18. He also claimed first place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke with a final time of 51.86, the 200-yard backstroke with a final time of 1:52.79, and the 200-yard IM by coming in at the 1:58.30 mark.
All three were also named NEC Prime Performers along with sophomore Alexander Pilieci (Ottawa, O.N. / John McCrae) on the men's side and junior Madeleine O'Dea (Milton, O.N. / Milton District) and sophomore Gabby Williams (Scotia, N.Y. / Scotia-Glenville) on the women's side.
Pilieci was also part of the 400-yard medley relay that set a pool record with a personal time of 50.13, and claimed first place in the 200-yard butterfly (1:53.71), 100-yard freestyle (47.24), and 200-yard IM (1:56.27) events.
O'Dea set two pool records and earned two first place and second place finishes apiece in the women's 166-134 win over Canisius, their first over an NCAA Division I program. She set a pool record and finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a final time of 1:05.46 before doing the same in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:24.20.
O'Dea then finished second as part of the 400-yard medley relay with a personal time of 1:04.30 and in the same position in the 200-yard IM, coming in at the 2:13.91 mark.
Williams took first place in the one-meter dive with a score of 287.30 during the Dolphins' victory.
Le Moyne will compete next in Ithaca at Cornell University next weekend.
