Recap:

A scoreless first half saw neither goalkeeper tested until Le Moyne junior Mikayla McPheron (Rome, N.Y./Rome Free Academy) was called into action at 13:48, followed by a second save at 17:12. The Dolphins recorded their first shot two minutes later as senior midfielder Giovanna Vigliotti (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) sent it over the goal. Le Moyne had two more shots in the half and prevented the Blue Devils from getting any more offensive stats.

Vigliotti forced a save from Central Connecticut's goalie 33 seconds into the second half as the Dolphins looked to break the deadlock. McPheron made a save at 60:26 to hold the scoreline, but was unable to keep the ball and fouled a Blue Devil, resulting in a penalty kick. With its best chance of the game, Central Connecticut was unable to convert the PK, hitting the left post. The Blue Devils continued to build momentum, racking up three shots and two corners in three minutes. With exactly 15 minutes on the clock, Central Connecticut broke through, taking the 1-0 lead. McPheron made her fourth and final save of the contest at 79:06 to keep the deficit at one. The Dolphins' offense was unable to find an equalizer, dropping their first game since the 1-0 loss at Stonehill College on Oct. 1.

'Phin Highlights:

Vigliotti led the Le Moyne offense with two shots and the only shot on goal. Junior forward Nicole Calle (Providence, R.I./Cumberland), freshman forward Emma Sousa (East Longmeadow, Mass./East Longmeadow) and redshirt-senior back Arndis Eggertsdottir (Akranes, Iceland/Fiolbrautaskoli Vesturlands) also had two shots in the contest. McPheron made four saves.
