Felix Ludemann (Wrestedt, Germany/Herzog-Ernst-Gymnasium Uelzen) of the men's soccer team and third year
Kyra Walter (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon/Domincan) of the women's bowling team have been named the Le Moyne Athletes of the Week, presented by CADimensions Inc.
Ludemann and the men's soccer team went 1-0-1 in their conference matchups home against New Haven and on the road at Stonehill. Felix scored both of Le Moyne's goals on Thursday against the Chargers in a 2-2 draw, and added two more goals Sunday in a 3-0 win over Stonehill.
Ludemann currently leads the NEC in goals (8) and points (17), and is 3
rd in shots on goal. In the national rankings, Ludemann has the 2
nd best goals per game average (1.00), is 3
rd in points per game (2.12), tied for 9
th in total goals, and tied for 16
th in total points.
Walter and the Dolphins competed in the program's inaugural competition at the Mercyhurst Invitational over the weekend. Kyra led the Dolphins on the day with a 184.6 scoring average while knocking down 923 total pins.
The Dolphins earned their first-ever win against Hilbert College 843-806. The following match, the Dolphins took down 16th-ranked and reigning NEC champion Duquesne University by just three pins, 885-882.
On Sunday, Le Moyne and Walter recorded their largest win of the weekend against Mercyhurst, 875-773, followed by an 857-845 victory over Daemen University to record their fourth win of the weekend.
Ludemann and the men's soccer team are back in action this Sunday against the league-leading FDU Knights, while Walter and the women's bowling team are back in action on October 24th for the first day of the Niagara University Fall Open.
