Syracuse, N.Y. – Le Moyne College softball's freshman outfielder Kayla Dunkerley (Purcellville, Va. / Loudon Valley) has been named the NEC Softball Rookie of the Week for her performance during the Dolphin's five-game series at the Longwood Spring Break Classic this past weekend.
Dunkerley slashed .308/.357/.462 in 13 at-bats over the weekend for an .819 OPS. She tallied four hits including a pair of doubles while reaching base once on a walk through five starts. Dunkerley drove in a pair of runs while coming in to score once in the team's final game of the weekend, a 6-2 win over Lafayette.
In the team's second win over the Leopards, Dunkerley went 2-4 at the plate with an RBI double while scoring the Dolphins' final run of the game.
Dunkerly's NEC Rookie of the Week nod marks Le Moyne's second of the season after freshman pitcher Tatum Nessman (Calgary, Alberta / National Sport School) earned the award on Feb. 10.
Along with Dunkerley, senior first baseman Audrey Benderski (Spring Lake Park, Minn./Spring Lake Park) and freshman utility player Adrianna Laraway (Colonie, N.Y. / Colonie) were both named Prime Performers, as well.
Benderski went 4-11 (.364) at the plate with a .533 on-base rate and .455 slugging percentage over the weekend. She added one double, four walks, one RBI, and two runs scored to the stat sheet through five games played.
Laraway started one game in the circle for Le Moyne while appearing in two relief spots for a total of 8.0 innings pitched at Longwood. She worked to a team-best 1.75 ERA, allowing three runs (two earned) on 10 hits and five walks while striking out two batters.
Laraway earned the win in the 'Phins' 6-2 win over Lafayette on Sunday, tossing 4.0 innings and allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits and three walks while striking out one Leopard hitter in the start.

Le Moyne will open 2026 NEC action on the road against LIU in three games on Saturday and Sunday, Mar. 14-15.
