Syracuse, N.Y. – Aidan Zuhoski and Antony Tsakos each scored twice to lead LIU to a 9-5 win over the Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team in NEC action on Saturday afternoon at Ted Grant Court.
The Sharks scored the only two goals of the first quarter. Tsakos started the scoring just 48 seconds into the game with his 11th tally of the season. With 11 seconds remaining, Vincent Scheivert netted his second goal of the season from the right side of the crease.
Senior attackman
Owen Wilson (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) got the Dolphins on the scoreboard at the 11:12 mark of the second quarter with his 11th marker of the campaign off a dish from freshman midfielder
Connor Lukas (New Hudson, Mich./Detroit Catholic Central).
The Sharks answered with two goals in 54 seconds. Following a penalty on the Dolphins, Ben McIsaac recorded his 22nd goal of the season after taking a pass from Blake Mason. He then fed Tsakos for LIU's fourth goal with 8:27 until halftime.
Sophomore midfielder
Emmet McDermott (Pleasantville, N.Y./Pleasantville) got the Dolphins back within two with 4:17 left with his third goal of the season.
The teams traded goals over the opening five and one-half minutes of the third quarter. Zuhoski pushed LIU's lead back to three with his 14th goal of the campaign just 34 seconds into the period. Senior attacker
Thomas Berry (Tully, N.Y./Tully) got the Dolphins back within two for the final time with his 17th marker of the year with 9:41 to go.
LIU netted the final two goals of the quarter. Zuhoski scored just 43 seconds after Berry's goal for a 6-3 advantage. Charlie Hunnewell gave his team a four-goal lead for the first time with his seventh goal of the season with 4:20 left.
The Sharks extended their run with the first two goals of the fourth quarter. Following a failed clear by the Dolphins, Cameron Connolly netted his 11th goal of the year at the 10:17 mark off a dish from McIsaac. Khairi Sears recorded his third goal of the season with 4:15 left for LIU's final tally of the game.
Le Moyne scored the final two goals of the contest. Freshman attackman
Cole Mayclim (Rye, N.Y./Archbishop Stepinac) scored his first career goal from the left edge of the crease with 2:17 left off a pass from McDermott. Wilson finished off the game's scoring with 17 seconds left after receiving a dish from sophomore midfielder

Junior goalkeeper
Lucas Winger (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) registered 16 saves, including eight in the second quarter, in the setback. Tyler Gresh recorded six saves to earn the win for the Sharks.
Le Moyne (2-8, 1-1 NEC), which dropped a home conference game for the first time since April 26, 2022, heads to defending NEC tournament champion Robert Morris University next Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
