Francesca Tortora (Syracuse, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse/Stony Brook) scored the game-winning goal 1:13 into overtime as the Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team defeated Wagner College, 9-8, in a battle for first place in the NEC on Saturday at Ted Grant Field.
Le Moyne opened the game's scoring at the 11:01 mark as sophomore attacker
Mackenzie Prentice (Clay, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) tallied her sixth goal of the season from the left side of the crease.
Just over 90 seconds later, Shealin Saracino evened the score at one apiece by converting a free-position shot.

Olivia Lockwood (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee/Onondaga C.C.) put the Dolphins up 4-1 at the 12:33 mark of the second quarter after taking a feed in transition from sophomore midfielder

Sydney Mulroony ended her team's 17-minute scoring drought by converting a free-position shot with 7:29 left.
Barney extended Le Moyne's lead back to three during an extra-player situation with 4:27 left in the half with her 22nd goal of the year.
Amelia Logan completed the scoring in the half with 3:27 remaining after collecting a feed from Mulroony.
Saracino opened the scoring in the third quarter at the 4:54 mark by scoring her ninth goal of the season during an extra-player situation.
Markovina pushed the margin back to two with 3:16 to go with her eighth marker of the campaign after receiving a dish from Tortora.
Logan answered 62 seconds later off a pass from Mulroony during an extra-player opportunity to get the Seahawks within 6-5.
Prentice gave Le Moyne its final two-goal lead just 44 seconds into the fourth quarter after collecting a feed from Tortora.
Wagner tallied the next two goals to tie the score at seven. Saracino netted her 10th goal of the season with 13:15 remaining off a pass from Sydney Ecker. Mulroony then tied the score with 10:35 left by converting a free-position shot.
Barney registered her 23rd goal of the campaign with 7:41 remaining by finding the back of the net on a free-position attempt.
Logan tied the score for the final time with 3:52 to play off another dish from Mulroony.
Each team committed a turnover on its next possession and then Le Moyne had a free-position shot go wide on its final possession.
The Dolphins won the opening draw of the overtime period and then drew a green card on the Seahawks. Just prior to the extra-player situation expiring, Tortora sent a pass towards Lockwood in front of the net, but it got past her and also bounced past the goalkeeper for the game-winning goal, her 21st tally of the season.

Amanda Manfredi (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) made four saves to earn her ninth victory of the season. Grace DeCarolis posted six saves in the loss for the Seahawks.
Le Moyne (9-2, 4-0 NEC) returns to action next Saturday at the University of New Haven at 1:00 p.m. While opponents in the NE10 from 2011 to 2023, the Dolphins won 15 of the 17 meetings, including all seven in West Haven, Connecticut.
