Oswego, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College women's tennis team closed out its non-conference schedule with a 7-0 victory over Oswego State on Sunday afternoon at the Romney Tennis Courts.
The Dolphins swept the doubles competition without dropping a game. At the top spot, junior
Ella Fernando (Manchester, England/Stonyhurst College) and senior
Paula Casares (A Coruna, Spain/Colegio Maristas Cristo Rey) registered a 6-0 win over Leah Bell and Emily DeLuca. Seniors
Stella Simeonova (Sofia, Bulgaria/National Gymnasium of Mathematics and Natural Sciences) and
Alicia Alvarez (Madrid, Spain/IES Ortega y Gasset) blanked Isabella Eason and Kate Hayes at the second position, 6-0. Senior
Emma Sanchez Jimenez (Marbella, Spain/Victoria Kent Marbella/Eastern Florida State College/Carson-Newman) and junior
Lilia Raiss (Temara, Morocco/Descartes) defeated Avery Borman and Ashlyn Feneck at the third spot, 6-0.
Le Moyne only lost three games on its way to sweeping the singles competition. Sanchez Jimenez was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at the top spot over Borman. Fernando swept Eason at the position, 6-0, 6-0. Simeonova tallied a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Bell at the third spot. Casares blanked DeLuca, 6-0, 6-0, at the fourth position. Raiss was victorious at the fifth spot over Hayes, 6-1, 6-0. Alvarez completed the sweep by blanking Hannah Freed at the sixth position, 6-0, 6-0.
Le Moyne (2-9) is back on the courts on Friday at LIU at the LIU Tennis Center in Brookville, N.Y.
