DARTMOUTH RECORDS 7-0 WIN OVER MEN’S TENNIS

Hanover, N.H. – The Le Moyne College men's tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss at Dartmouth College on Sunday afternoon at the Boss Tennis Center.

The Big Green opened the match by winning the point in the doubles competition. Calvin Wang and Malhar Patel won at the second spot, 6-1, over sophomore Luke Hoyland (Sheffield, England/Birkdale School) and freshman Gabriel Segubiense (Sugar Land, Texas/Clements). Kornel Halmos and Adrian Treacy clinched the point with a 6-2 victory at the third position over sophomores Callum Matthew (Dorset, England/Highcliffe School) and Lorenzo Bortolaso (Bassano del Grappa, Italy/IT IS Enrico Fermi). Freshman Carlo Zucchini (Varese, Italy/European School of Varese) and sophomore Navya Verma (Patiala, India/Apollo Public School) had a 4-3 lead at the top spot over Miles Groom and Henry Ren when the point was clinched.

Dartmouth won five of the six matches in the singles competition in straight sets. At the top spot, Halmos rallied for a 6-7, 6-2, 10-6 win over Zucchini, who had his three-match win streak snapped. Groom recorded back-to-back scores of 6-3 at the second position against Matthew. Treacy was victorious at the third spot over Hoyland, 7-5, 6-1. Leo Pade picked up consecutive scores of 6-2 over Bortolaso at the fourth position. Wang claimed the point at the fifth spot with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Segubiense. Patel was also a 6-2, 6-1 winner over junior Yegor Boyev (London, England/Ashcroft Technology Academy) at the sixth position.
 
Le Moyne (1-6) is back in action on Friday, April 3 at LIU at 7:00 p.m.
