4/27/2026 2:38:00 PM

Bridgewater, N.J. – Le Moyne College graduate student attacker Francesca Tortora (Syracuse, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse/Stony Brook) has been named the NEC women's lacrosse Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Tortora collects the honor for the fourth time in seven weeks after a career-high seven points on three goals and a career best-tying four assists to go with two caused turnovers and one ground ball in a 22-8 victory at Central Connecticut State on Saturday. The win clinched the Dolphins a share of the NEC regular season title and the top seed in the upcoming NEC Tournament.

Through 16 games, Tortora has 60 points on 36 goals and 24 assists. She is fourth in the NEC in assists, fifth in total points, points per game (3.75) and assists per game (1.50), eighth in goals and ninth in goals per game (2.25).

Le Moyne (13-3, 8-1 NEC), which has won 13 games at the Division I level for just the third time in its 15 seasons at the level (1999-2010, 2024-26), will open pursuit of its first NEC title (and eighth overall conference championship (4 MAAC, 3 NE10)) on Thursday with a semifinal matchup against fourth-seeded FDU at 12:00 p.m. In the regular season matchup with the Knights just nine days ago, the Dolphins registered an 11-7 victory and Tortora tallied five points on four goals and one assist.
