The Dolphins scored the game's first nine goals in a span of seven minutes. Just 24 seconds later, sophomore attacker Mackenzie Prentice (Clay, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) netted her eighth goal of the campaign. Junior attacker Sophie Klein (Slingerlands, N.Y./Bethlehem) followed at the 11:13 mark with her third goal of the season. After the Hornets had the ball for the first time, Barney registered her 25th marker of the campaign off another feed from Tortora with 10:24 remaining to force a Delaware State timeout. Senior attacker Bella Sampo (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) followed 45 seconds later with her eighth goal of the year after receiving a pass from Tortora, who then scored her 25th goal of the season 51 seconds later after collecting a dish from sophomore midfielder Carrie Bennett (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) to force another timeout and a goalkeeper change. Sophomore midfielder Melayna Miller (Central Square, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) capped the outburst (and the scoring in the quarter) with 7:09 left by scoring off a free-position shot.

Following over nine minutes of scoreless play, Genesya Spann scored in an extra-player situation for the Hornets with 13:05 remaining in the second quarter.

Le Moyne (11-2, 6-0 NEC), which has won 11 of its first 13 games at the Division I level for the first time in the program's history (1999-2010 and 2024-2026), scored the final four goals of the half to take a 13-1 lead into the intermission. Junior attacker Emily Noel (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) started the run at the 12:06 mark with her second goal of the season. Senior midfielder Sara Hunter (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) followed with her second goal of the year with 10:54 left off a dish from freshman Allison LaMora (Philadelphia, N.Y./Indian River). Freshman attacker Aliyah Mattox (Lafayette, N.Y./Onondaga) converted a free-position shot with 4:05 remaining for her second marker of the campaign. Noel concluded the scoring half with 1:06 left off a dish from Strelick.
