Perry, N.Y. – Le Moyne College senior attackman
Thomas Berry (Tully, N.Y./Tully) has been named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Scholar All-America team, as announced by the association.
Berry is one of 142 students (from 51 institutions) to earn USILA Division I Scholar All-America honors and one of just 13 student-athletes from the NEC to be recognized (along with five student-athletes from Cleveland State University, three from Mercyhurst University, two from the University of Detroit Mercy and one each from LIU and Robert Morris University).
A Scholar All-American must be nominated by his coach and be a student with a senior year academic standing and a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. He will have behaved in a manner that has brought credit to himself, his institution, and to college lacrosse both on and off the field. He must also be an All-American, a member of a North/South team, or an outstanding league or conference player. Please note that simply being a member of the North/South team and/or being All League/Conference does not make the Student-Athlete a lock for the award. Each Individual will be evaluated on a case by case basis by the Scholar AA committee.
Berry was honored after being named to the NEC All-Conference Second Team in late April. The only Dolphin to start all 15 games at attack, Berry led the team with a career-best 34 points on a career-high and team-leading 31 goals and three assists, while adding 16 ground balls. He tallied multiple goals in nine games, including six games with at least three goals. His highest scoring output of the season came against VMI, where he recorded a career-high six goals on just eight shots. His seven man-up goals are the most by a Dolphin since 2016 (Andrew Jackson, 7). He ranked fifth in the NEC in goals scored and fourth in goals per game (2.07).
Berry finished his career as a Dolphin with 72 points on 57 goals and 15 assists to go with 29 ground balls over 41 games played, which included starts in each of the last 30 games. He is the first Dolphin to lead the team in goals in back-to-back seasons since Justin Kesselring '18 did so in 2017 and 2018.
