Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's basketball team will open the 2026-27 season at the University of Nebraska on Monday, November 2.
The contest will be the first ever between the programs and Le Moyne's second matchup against a member of the Big 10 since transitioning to the Division I level (Penn State in 2023). The game will also be Le Moyne's first in the state of Nebraska.
The Dolphins return two letterwinners and one redshirt from last year's squad, which went 15-17, including 10-8 in their third season in the NEC to earn the fourth seed in the conference tournament. The Dolphins have added 10 transfers and three freshmen to the roster for 2026-27.
The Cornhuskers went a school-record 28-7 overall, 15-5 in the BIG East and advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in the program's history. Under eight-year head coach Fred Hoiberg, who was named the AP National Coach of the Year and the Big Ten Coach of the Year, the Huskers return seven players, including leading scorer Pryce Sandfort (18.1 ppg), who was an All-Big Ten First Team selection, and third-leading scorer Braden Frager (11.8 ppg), who was named the Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year, while adding six transfers and two freshmen.
The team's complete non-conference schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
