Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College women's soccer team were defeated by Binghamton University on Sunday.

The match commenced with Binghamton applying early pressure, evidenced by several attempts on goal. Le Moyne's junior goalkeeper
Mikayla McPheron (Rome, N.Y./Rome Free Academy), saved a crucial shot by Jahkaya Davis in the 7
th minute. Despite McPheron's efforts, Davis found the back of the net in the 17
th minute, assisted by Anna Buckwalter, giving Binghamton a 1-0 lead.
The Bearcats controlled the possession throughout most of the first half but were held to one goal as the two programs went into the break with the score 1-0 in favor of Binghamton.
Binghamton extended its lead early in the second half with a goal from Paige Luke in the 56
th minute. Despite Le Moyne's efforts to respond, including a shot by sophomore midfielder
Ella Lathrop (Walworth, N.Y./Ruben A. Cirillo) saved by Rebecca Kessler, Binghamton's offense remained aggressive. Luke struck again in the 72
nd minute, and Ale Victoriano added another goal in the 79
th minute, assisted by Brooke Herber. McPheron made several key saves for the Dolphins, but Binghamton maintained control, marking a decisive 4-0 victory.
"Our girls are staying true to their identity," said Van Fleet. "We are going to stay true to ourselves and trust the process"

McPheron made five saves during the match, facing 24 shots. Lathrop registered one shot, which was on target.

Looking ahead, Le Moyne will travel to St. Bonaventure, New York, for its next game against St. Bonaventure University. The match is set for Thursday, Aug. 27, at 6 p.m.
