Elijah Burns was named assistant men’s basketball coach in June of 2024.
He joins the Dolphins following a year as an assistant at The College of Saint Rose.
Burns has several years of professional playing experience, including overseas stops with the Kagoshima Rebnise (Japan), OSE Lions (Hungary) and Worcester Wolves (England).
The Troy, New York native played collegiately at the University of Notre Dame from 2015-18. During his freshman season in 2015-16, the Fighting Irish advanced to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament before falling to No. 1 seed North Carolina.
He earned a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Notre Dame in December of 2018.
Burns played a graduate season at Siena College in 2019-20, serving as team captain and averaging 14.4 points, 5.8 rebounds with three double-doubles to help the Saints compile a 20-10 record, including a 15-5 conference resume that earned the program its eighth MAAC Regular Season Championship.
Burns was subsequently named to the All-MAAC Second Team.
