Francesco Riverso ’02 returned to his alma mater in 2011 as an assistant, working alongside his former coach, Tom Bonus.

One of the most prolific scorers in program history, Riverso left the program ranked second all-time in goals scored (41, currently t3rd), third in career points (97, currently t3rd) and fourth in career assists (15, currently t9th). Named the 2002 Rev. J.J. O’Brien Male Senior Athlete of the Year (the first men’s soccer student-athlete to have ever received the honor), Riverso earned All-NE-10 honors three times in his career. In his senior season, Riverso tied a program record for goals in a season with 18, ranking in the top ten in the NCAA in goals per game, en route to being named to the NCAA All-Region First-Team. In 2013, he was inducted into the Le Moyne College Gold Wave Hall of Fame.

A native of Syracuse, Riverso played soccer locally for Express Soccer Club, Henninger High School and Christian Brothers Academy. Riverso has also coached locally with Syracuse F.C., Empire United Soccer Academy and Syracuse Development Academy as a staff coach, working with various age groups.

Riverso graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Le Moyne College in 2002 and went on to earn a Master’s degree in Higher Education from Syracuse University in 2005.

Riverso also works full-time at Syracuse University as the program manager for Sport Analytics in the Department of Sport Management, within the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics.
