Brooke Barnes joined the women’s soccer coaching staff as an assistant coach in the fall of 2022. She has aided in the smooth transition of the program during its reclassification to Division I in 2023. Coach Barnes is the main recruiter on head coach Jaro Zawislan’s staff and is tasked with helping to take the program to the next level.
Before joining the Le Moyne women’s soccer program, Barnes was the assistant head coach for the SUNY College of Environment Science and Forestry women’s team. During her stint at SUNY ESF she helped lead the program to its fifth straight HVIAC Conference Championship which gave them an automatic bid to the USCAA National Tournament. The Mighty Oaks won their first ever National Championship for Division II in 2021.
Barnes graduated from Le Moyne in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in business and competed for the women’s lacrosse team during her time on the Heights. She helped lead the Dolphins to back-to-back MAAC Conference Championships and appearances in the NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Championship in 2002 and 2003.
She is a graduate of Chittenango High School where she was a four-year starter and earned All-CNY First Team honors all four years. She was also named captain her sophomore, junior and senior seasons for the Lady Bears Varsity Soccer Team.
Barnes has also coached the junior varsity women's soccer team and varsity lacrosse teams at Chittenango High School. She coached for the Syracuse Blitz F.C. from 2002 through 2007. Barnes is also a certified soccer referee in the Western New York State Soccer Association.
