Bonus, who has 20 years of coaching experience, came to Le Moyne after leading Onondaga Community College to its seventh straight postseason berth. In 2015, she guided a pair of freshmen to Mid-State Athletic Conference All-Conference selections. Also during her time at Onondaga, she served as the Coordinator of Student-Athlete Development, a role in which she was responsible for advising, scheduling, registration and the transfer process for the College’s student-athletes.

Bonus also served as a head coach in the New York State West Olympic Development Program and led her team to the regional championship and berths in the national tournament.

Prior to her time at Onondaga, Bonus spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Ithaca College under longtime head coach Mindy Quigg, a 309-game winner over 22 seasons in charge of the Bombers. The Bombers won a program record-tying 19 games and the coaching staff was recognized by the Empire 8 Conference as Coaching Staff of the Year in each of her first two years in Ithaca. The Bombers went 19-1-3 en route to winning the Empire 8 Championship and advancing to the third round (final 16) of the NCAA tournament in her first season with the program in 2012. The Bombers matched their wins record again in 2013 with a 19-3 record, while winning their ninth Empire 8 title and securing their 11st straight and NCAA-record 24th NCAA tournament appearance, in which they recorded three victories to advance to the quarterfinals. The 2014 Bombers went 15-4-1, claimed a share of the Empire 8 championship again and advanced to the NCAA second round.

Bonus spent the season before joining the Ithaca staff as the head coach at Cayuga Community College. From 2006 through the 2009 season, she was the head girls varsity coach at Carolina Forest High School, where she led the Panthers to three consecutive playoff appearances.

Bonus started her collegiate coaching career in 1996 as an assistant coach at Allegheny College. After moving on to Frostburg State as a graduate assistant coach for both the women’s soccer and lacrosse programs in 1997, she was named the head coach of the Bobcats in 1999. She became Frostburg State’s winningest coach after going 39-22 over her three seasons in Frostburg, Maryland and taking the program to new heights. Following a 22-17 mark and a pair of runner-up finishes in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference in her first two years in charge of the Bobcats, she led the team to a record-breaking season in 2001. Frostburg State went 17-5 en route to winning its first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championship and advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in the program’s history. In addition to Bonus being named the AMCC Coach of the Year, seven Bobcats received All-AMCC accolades, while one was named the league’s Most Valuable Player. The Bobcats scored 79 goals in 2001, which at the time was the second-most in the program’s history and still ranks third. The Bobcats won the next four AMCC Championships following her departure from Frostburg for Brown University.

At Brown, where she served as an assistant coach, she worked alongside head coach Phil Pincince, who led the Bears for 39 seasons - the NCAA’s longest-standing tenure - prior to retiring after the 2015 season.

Bonus attended Keuka College, where she was a standout member of the soccer and basketball programs. She earned all-region honors on the soccer field and after graduation competed in the 1996 and 1998 Empire State Games.

Bonus earned a bachelor’s degree in special education at Keuka in 1996 and went on to receive a master’s degree in administration/supervision from Frostburg State in 1999.
