Lainey Foti '22 was named a graduate assistant coach on head coach Jaro Zawislan’s staff ahead of the 2023 campaign following a four-year playing career with the Dolphins.
During her four seasons on the Heights, Foti appeared in 61 games with 49 starts in the Le Moyne midfield.
She tallied four goals and two assists during her career, and logged a total of 3,860 minutes.
During her freshman campaign in 2018, Foti was featured in the starting lineup during her collegiate debut as the Dolphins claimed a 2-0 win over Roberts Wesleyan. She scored her first career goal at Franklin Pierce on September 12, 2018, then scored during a 2-0 win over Pace on October 27 in the season finale.
Foti started 13 games and logged 1,084 minutes during her sophomore campaign in 2019. She played all 90 minutes and scored her first goal of the season during a 2-1 setback at Assumption on October 8, then provided an assist at New Haven on October 19.
In her final season in 2022, which was also Zawislan’s first season as the program’s head coach, Foti helped the Dolphins improve their winning percentage by .141 from the previous season.
She started the final 11 games that she played in and helped the ‘Phins compiled a 5-8-3 record after going 2-10-3 in 2021.
Foti helped the Dolphins transition to Division I during her first season on staff in 2023. Le Moyne claimed the program’s first-ever Division I win on August 27, 2023, with a 3-2 come-from-behind win at Niagara University.
The Dolphins claimed back-to-back home draws against Rhode Island and Robert Morris, and then registered their first-ever Northeast Conference victory on September 21 with a 1-0 win at home over Stonehill.
Foti is a graduate of Jamesville-DeWitt High School.
