TOP-RANKED MEN'S LACROSSE REMAINS PERFECT WITH 22-0 WIN OVER AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL, BLAKE GALE SCORES THREE GOALS TO PACE DOLPHINS

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Junior Blake Gale (LaFayette, N.Y./ LaFayette) scored three goals to led the Le Moyne to a 22-0 win over American International in a Northeast-10 Conference men's lacrosse game at American International. The top-ranked Dolphins improve to 12-0 overall and 8-0 in league action, while American International (0-8, 0-8 Northeast-10) remains winless on the season.

Gale was one of 14 Dolphins to score in their 68th consecutive Northeast-10 Conference regular season win. Junior Ed Street (Manlius, N.Y./CBA), senior Jason Longo (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia), sophomore Mike McLaughlin (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill), freshman Brian Griffin (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee), sophomore Alex Bily (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) and freshman Markus Fallico (Fayetteville, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa) scored two goals each.

Freshman Brian Welch (Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca), sophomore Mike McDonald (Latham, N.Y./Shaker), sophomore Tom Donahue (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee), freshman Jeff Lewis (Minoa, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa), freshman Jim Fiacco (Fayetteville, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt), senior Nate Evans (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua) and junior Kevin Kohl (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) netted one goal each. Lewis, Fiacco and Kohl's goals were there first of the season.

Street scored two goals as Le Moyne jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the opening quarter. Five different Dolphins scored to take a 12-0 lead at the half. Longo scored twice in the third as Le Moyne pushed it to a 19-0 margin after three.

The Dolphins defense, allowing just 3.67 goals per game this season, has posted two shutouts in 2006 and five in the last two seasons.

Le Moyne returns home for a Northeast-10 Conference game against No. 8 Merrimack (7-3, 6-0 Northeast-10) on Sunday at 1 p.m. The game featuring the last two unbeaten teams in Northeast-10 Conference action will be televised live throughout Central and Northern New York on Time Warner Sports Channel 26.
