SMITHFIELD, R.I. - #9 Bryant scored four consecutive goals, including the game winner in overtime, to snap #1 Le Moyne's 70 game conference winning streak. The loss also marked the first regular season loss since the 2002 season when the Dolphins dropped an 11-7 decision to C.W. Post, a span of 63 games. Le Moyne had not lost in 21 straight overall games.
Le Moyne (3-1, 0-1) scored four straight goals to begin the second half to take 9-6 advantage into the final period. Bryant (3-2, 2-0) rallied for three straight goals in the fourth quarter when Kevin Hoagland tied the game at 9 with 3:07 remaining. Hoagland scored the game winner in overtime on an assist from Bryan Kaufman to give the Bulldogs the victory, their first in 13 tries against Le Moyne.
The Dolphins were led in scoring by Mike McDonald (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) who scored five goals and assisted on another. Brian Griffin (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) also contributed with two goals. Nick Gatto (Syracuse, N.Y./Henninger/Onondaga C.C.) and Andrew Carducci (Syracuse, N.Y./Henniger) tallied one goal each. In goal, Jared Corcoran (Concord, N.H./Concord) registered 12 saves, dropping only his second game in his four years as the Dolphin netminder. The ten goals surrendered by the Le Moyne defense marked only the second time that an opponent has tailed double digits in goals since the start of the 2004 season.
Le Moyne looks to bounce back as they take on Franklin Pierce on Sunday, March 25th at 1:00 pm.
