Pleasantville, NY. - No. 3 Le Moyne used 11 unanswered goals to pull away from #9 Pace 16-6 in a Northeast 10 match-up on Wednesday. The win improves the Dolphins to 9-2 on the season, 5-2 in the Northeast 10 Conference. The loss drops Pace to 6-4 on the year, 3-4 in conference.
Leading 5-4 with 8:16 remaining in the second quarter, Le Moyne scored 11 unanswered goals to push the Dolphin lead to 16-5. Le Moyne was led offensively by Nick Gatto (Syracuse, N.Y. /Henninger) and Tom Donahue (Syracuse, N.Y. /West Genesee) who tallied three goals each. Brian Griffin (Camillus, N.Y. /West Genesee) and Alex Bily (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) chipped in with two goals apiece. Mike McDonald (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) dished out three assists to go with one goal that pushes his team lead to 19.
Le Moyne's defense once again held their opponent to single digits, allowing the Setters six goals on 23 shots. The defense shut out the Setters in the third period, keying the Dolphin attack. Jared Corcoran (Concord, N.H./Concord) picked up his ninth victory of the season registering six saves.
The Dolphins will travel to Southern New Hampshire on Saturday, April 21st to take on the Penmen at 1:00 p.m.
