FISHKILL, N.Y. - Le Moyne College junior shortstop Andy Parrino has been named the 2007 MAAC Baseball Player of the Year and headlines the 2007 All-MAAC Teams, as voted on by the MAAC's head coaches.
Parrino led the conference in batting, hitting .396 (72-182) during the regular season. He has also registered league-bests in hits (72), slugging percentage (.648), total bases (118) and runs batted in (43), while recording 39 runs scored, 15 doubles, two triples and nine home runs for the Dolphins this year.
Le Moyne's Bobby Blevins and Manhattan College's Jesse Darcy have been chosen as the 2007 MAAC Co-Pitchers of the Year. Blevins led the Dolphins with an 8-2 record on the mound and a 2.91 ERA. He fanned 86 batters in 96.0 innings of work during the regular season, and held opponents to a .234 batting average.  Darcy owns an 8-3 record on the mound for the Jaspers and a 2.30 ERA for his senior campaign. He has also recorded 57 strikeouts in 98.0 innings of work and held opponents to a .260 batting average.Â
Le Moyne's Ryan Woods earned the 2007 MAAC Relief Pitcher of the Year award. Woods recorded a league-high 14 saves for the Dolphins this season. He closed out the regular season with a 5-1 record and a 1.10 ERA. He struck out 39 batters over 49.0 innings.
Canisius College's Ian Choy has been named as the 2007 MAAC Rookie of the Year. Choy posted a team-best .370 batting average in his inaugural campaign for the Golden Griffins, while collecting 61 hits, 26 RBI and 15 runs scored.Â
The All-MAAC First Team includes catcher Nick Derba (.288 BA, 44 H, 30 RBI) of Manhattan, fellow Jasper Matt Rizzotti (.355 BA, 60 H, 42 RBI) at first base. Marist College's Patrick Feeney (.338 BA, 66 H, 39 R) took second base honors, while Parrino is at shortstop.  At third base is Le Moyne's Stephen Crawford (.332 BA, 64 H, 41 R). In the outfield are Choy, Tim Alberts (.379 BA, 66 H, 42 RBI) from Niagara University, and Kevin Kallert (.376 BA, 59 H, 35 R) from Saint Peter's College. Fairfield University's Peter Allen (.380 BA, 62 H, 35 RBI) is the designated hitter, and Rider University's Sean Olson (.315 BA, 58 H, 42 RBI) is the utility player. Blevins and Darcy were selected for the first team pitching corp.
The All-MAAC Second Team includes Phil St. Amant (.299 BA, 53 H, 36 RBI) from Le Moyne as catcher, and fellow teammate Corey O'Neill (.305 BA, 43 H, 28 RBI) at first base.  Dennis Alexander (.337 BA, 56 H, 33 R) from Saint Peter's is at second base, while Rene Ruiz (.293 BA, 53 H, 37 R) from Manhattan and Jamie Hayes (.281 BA, 52 H, 32 R) from Rider earned a spot at shortstop. Canisius' Kevin Mahoney (.287 BA, 54 H, 42 R) is at third base. The outfield is made up of Manhattan's Kevin Nieto (.277 BA, 52 H, 37 R), and Marist's Max Most (.346 BA, 66 H, 38 R) and Travis Musolf (.292 BA, 57 H, 47 R). Marist's Justin Lepore (.272 BA, 47 H, 40 RBI) is the designated hitter, while Saint Peter's Santo Maertz (.284 BA, 38 H, 24 RBI) is the utility player. Le Moyne's Eric Beaulac (8-1, 2.78 ERA, 78 SO, 71.1 IP) and Manhattan's Josh Santerre (7-4, 3.22 ERA, 66 SO, 78.1 IP) round out the All-MAAC Second Team as the pitchers.
Saint Peter's head coach Derek England has been named the 2007 Anaconda Sports MAAC Coach of the Year. England led the Peacocks to an overall record of 23-29 and a 13-13 mark in the MAAC.
